zoidberger
I think I'll just pry myself away from the TV for a while. not a bad plan, but I'm too curious... I'll have an eye on it for a bit at least.
psyote
scariness people!i just got off the phone with a friend in Ohio. He and his wife tried to vote earlier today but were told that the computers showed that they had already voted. Needless to say, they raised sand as did a some other people who were told that they could not vote because their records showed that they had already voted. After the loud complaints, the people were given provisional ballots to be filled out and were told that they could file a complaint in 10 days. WTF??! Seriously? I'm in Ohio here, and thank god that didn't happen to me.
osito
Pretty much. Just waiting on Indiana really. If Obama wins there, it's almost certainly over. Aw, shucks...we don't want it to be over quite this soon. We want suspense and popcorn. Obama is well ahead in Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania :) Elizabeth Dole is out. Eddie7
Not even 1% of the votes have been counted so far though. It should tighten a lot more than that. New ones: ARKANSAS (6) - McCain ALABAMA (9) - McCain Electoral votes: Obama - 103 McCain - 49 Popular vote: Obama - 51% McCain - 49%

Eddie7
For what it's worth, CNN have now joined ABC and NBC in calling Pennsylvania for Obama, so it's looking pretty safe. Looks like Georgia will be going to McCain, not unexpectedly.

Eddie7
I don't know, they have enough problems with Islamic separatists already. How on earth did the BBC swipe Ted Koppel?
Kelly
Looks like Georgia will be going to McCain, not unexpectedly. Georgia has 100% untraceable Diebold blackbox voting machines and a Republican Secretary of State (who runs the election). It matters not how peeps vote--McCain was preprogrammed to win. That is the beauty of blackboxes and a Republican owner of such devices and programs. I called Georgia for McCain before the voting began.

I can't stop using exclamation points! Eeeeeeeeee!

osito
Yeah, well, look where the 'excitement' of the 2000 and 2004 elections got us. I was hoping for a little more suspense, to be mitigated by the medicinal application of tequila. But of course, we don' need none o' that 2000 and 2004 excitement. 2tabbymom
Most of these "results" are just based on exit polls. I read an article about 30 minutes ago that said our new governor in Missouri was Jay Nixon, but there were only 1% of the precincts reporting at that time. He is definitely winning (yayy!!!), but I've learned not to count my chickens before they hatch. I really hope that Proposition A passes, that is job security for the employees where I work.
