Kamtoad Posted November 10, 2008 Share Posted November 10, 2008 Right now I'm going a sociology degree and one of the modules I have to do is about Society in Transformation. This week the topics we're going over in our lectures is basically gender, sex, power and sexuality. Today our lecture was specifically on Sex and Sexuality, and I was expecting pretty standard stuff, to go over heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, hetero-normativity and that would roughly be it. I've been grinning ever since the slide came up - Asexuality was included, along with a link to AVEN and an explanation of both what AVEN is about and a pretty good explanation of asexuality too. I was so close to squeeing too, but I've managed to hold off since I was in a room with over 100 other students, probably closer to 200. Even better still - that module isn't one exclusive to sociology - the criminology students and psychology students have to take it as well :D So on the off chance you're reading this - THANK YOU Professor Hutchby!
