What is the story,indeed?

Google has this feature where people ask questions, and put a monetary price on their questions to be answered, and people respond...

which is actually an intersting idea

anyways i found this--~~--i hope the link works, if not i'll probably be back tomorrow and will try to help direct then.

The link does work sacredprofane.

I have been seeing my 'boyfriend' for about 2 1/2 years, he has still

not made a SINGLE move...I've asked several times what his big fear

about sleeping with me is, but he says he has to just be sure it is

right first...He is 42 years old,

...

(I suspect, but am not sure...that ha has never had any sexual contact

before)

Now here were some suggestions about what was wrong with this "prude" boyfriend.

- he's had bad (maybe even traumatic) experiences in his sexual life

- he's afraid of having sex with you, maybe not being good enough for

you

- he's not attracted to you, and maybe just needs a friend, and he

might be afraid to tell you

- he's gay

- he's having a midlife crisis, and he's depressive

- he has some kind of physical problem, resulting in impotence

Let me point out the first error.

Despite current parlance, a man of 42 years is not a boy. He knows himself and what he wants.

I've noticed that asexuality hasn't been suggested even once by this sage.

I think it's very likely that this man might be asexual if he chose to label himself so.

And the characterization of him as a prude is a little extreme and archaic.

Who uses the word prude any more?

I don't think any real prudes exist.

Sacred + Liver = Team Refutation !!

TR leaves no dusty corner of the Web unexplored for opportunities to get the message out, and loud, and unmistakable-like.

Is it just me, or has every non-AVEN discussion consisted of ~50% doubters and sexual bigots, ~40% well-meaning-but-no-less-ignorant people who look to medical problems, and 10% who immediately get the joke? It's a start, but there's much much work to do -- and TR has immediately gotten to it. Thanks guys!

Right on, TR!!

Wooo!!

And what's wrong with being a prude? I love the words 'prude' and 'spinster'. That's me! :D (Even though I'm really not.) I suppose I like them because they sound vaguely Victorian. Like me.

Vaguely Victorian,

Cate

I think prude is a Victorian name.

That's part of the reason I called archaic.

But if you don't mind being called a prude, that's okay too.
