Misplaced
Anyone who has ever sang after the passing of Freddy Murcury, maybe Tupac. I can't stand modern music that everyone seems to love
Pyro Yoshi
I cast another vote for the 'Nirvana is mediocre' statement. What's so great about them? Justin Timberlake is another one, his music is generic dance club stuff. He should just stick to acting and never release anymore albums. As for metal, I don't see what's so amazing about Bolt Thrower. Most of their songs sound the same. Also, I'm not keen on alt rock or soft rock. If the band members look like stereotypical 'hipsters' there's a 99.99% chance I won't like them.
LaMaestra
I think you've already spoken for me, dudes. I cannot stand One Direction, Justin Bieber, U2, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Leona Lewis and their ilk. Most of today's music is boring. I don't really like Adele, think she is overrated. Yet I can understand what everyone sees in her as she does seem to be all about the music. I also dislike Coldplay, Oasis, Timberlake, Britney, Christina Aguilera, Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue. In fact, Kylie is my chief hate in music.
Grace Barton
I generally try not to outright dislike a band/artist altogether, because while I may dislike a band/artist's music in general, there may be the odd track that strikes a chord with me. Like I'm not a fan of Limp Bizkit, but I love the song Behind Blue Eyes.

Like I'm not a fan of Limp Bizkit, but I love the song Behind Blue Eyes. Behind Blue Eyes is originally by the Who; Limp Bizkit merely covered it. It is a lovely song, though. I sang it at a recital at music camp once, but it was before I had a high range, and I f*cked it up royally.
DexM
Where do I start? One Direction- To sod off. That is the only direction when it comes to these goons. Adele- The Skyfall theme was bleedin awful. Bieber- The only reason I would bring back national service. Rhianna- Somebody tell the poor girl to cover up. Please! It's as boring as her repetitive lyrics. The Rolling Stones- A couple of decent songs, but just retire. Coldplay- Buy one album, and you have heard every song from all the other albums. Slip Knot- I love metal. I do, I really do, but this is just a bunch of guys screaming at the fans. A couple of decent songs. The rest wouldn't be out of place at a footie ground.
LaMaestra
I feel the same way about the Stones, Dex. Some of their stuff is quite decent (Out Of Time and Jumping Jack Flash especially) and I respect the fact that they write their own material (mostly) and play instruments. But I'm no fan. Most of their stuff is boring.

I also like Paint It Black, but there always seems to be this question, the question that those pretentious NME types like to bring out, and it's usually: The Beatles or The Rolling Stones? I do respect their talent, bands just aren't bands anymore, but it just felt like they were in the right place at the right time. @Amnesiac- Shame on you! ^_^

shockkkk
Not gonna touch rap, r&b, or country artists since I just don't like those genres, but I feel this way The Foo Fighters, Bob Dylan, The Police, and U2. Also agree Nirvana is mediocre. I like Radiohead to some extent, but I never really got why places like pitchfork idolized them so much.
Cereal Tendencies
Along with everyone else on JB, One D, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa,Lorde, other pop starsI dislike Beyonce,Drake,Lil Wayne, Trey Songs- just to name a fewI really, really can't stand r&b/hiphop/rapI never got the fascination with Pink Floyd and The CureI mainly listen to alternative and house music Pitbull and Robin Thicke <----- I hate these 2 with a burning passion

Piotrek
Give me Tarja Turunen or Simone Simons any day of the week, and I will swoon away, but not Queen Bey. Good to see someone mention liking Tarja or Simone here :) I like both Nightwish and Epica, although I'm rather lukewarm in my enthusiasm for Tarja's solo stuff. I mostly hang around on metal-oriented fora and one of the bands people tend to enthuse about there is Dream Theater. I still haven't fallen in love with their stuff, though. Maybe if I give them a proper chance that will change, who knows.

Epica is my favorite band in the genre, but I am a sucker for Tarja, especially when she was with Nightwish. Dream Theater is a pretty solid band; I'm not wild about them, but I've liked what I've listened to, especially when Mike Portnoy was their drummer.
Trava u doma
That I dislike most of modern crap goes without saying. But I also don't like U2 for some reason; perhaps because of Bono? I like Nightwish, too, guys ^_^

As long as you like those two :) They're two of their best songs and PiB was the song that got them out of the cosy venues and in to the arena's.
LaMaestra
My friend William introduced me to Nightwish. They're very good. I also like Tool and System Of A Down. My nephew got me into System Of A Down when he played their songs in the car and we'd sing along to 'Violent Pornography' and the one with the line 'With a feeling so pure', can't remember its name currently. I remember the preceding line as being very rude though!
LaMaestra
The way in which we are discussing music we are not into here highlights how much better than other sites Aven is. On most sites, you only have to say you don't like the colour of some performer's shoelaces or hair ribbon and their silly little fans go reporting you to the mods. Love Aven! Speaking of System of a Down, when I saw A Day To Remember, in between acts they played Chop Suey and almost the entirety of the crowd was singing along. I only caught a little of it on my phone but it was brilliant to hear :)
Waist of Thyme
Of the common radio music most people here don't like, my least favorites are: Rihanna, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Iggy Azalea, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, rappers who put disgusting lyrics in their songs (too many to list names), Chris Brown, Justin Bieber. Some of those (Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Iggy Azalea, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus) I don't just not like their music, I hate them as people for things they've said and done. The way they conduct themselves in interviews and such like is a great indication of how they are in private. If they are arrogant and nasty in public, they are obviously like it in private. Agreed, and there can be some surprising people on that nasty list. Apparently Arlo Guthrie (a famous country/folk singer) is something of a jerk to fans. A friend of mine saw him in concert a few years back, and he was really rude to the people in the autograph line!
MadRat
Motley Crue and the whole shitty glam metal. The most commercial non-inovative and simple subgenre of metal (some says it´s not even metal but pop trying to be metal), and the worst perverts...
marki
I can't stand all this pop shit that gets passed off as music. I hate Kanye West and all the other pop wrappers. I use the term wrapper because they are simply a packaged and recycled product of the record industry who lack any true talent or flow. I would gladly cut him up on a freestyle battle and send him crying home to Kim.
