If you were the person in each of the following scenarios, what would you identify as?

Note this does not ask what technically each person's orientation is. It asks what you would call yourself in each situation. If you feel none of the orientations fit, choose the one that you would most strongly identify with.

Scenario #1

You are a male. You are turned on by the female body; the male body does nothing for you. However, you only get sexual pleasure from having sex with males. Whether it's the taboo nature, emotional bond, or physical sensation that gets you off is unknown. Moreover, as a result, you will seek out sexual relations with males from time to time.

Scenario #2

You are a female. You are turned on by both stereotypical sexy females and sexy males, but for whatever reason, despite being aroused by certain females, you've never had a desire to have sex with another girl. You do however enjoy having sex with your boyfriend, and desire sex with him on a regular basis.

Scenario #3

You are male. You've never actually become aroused by someone, or become aroused by viewing sexual acts. However, you enjoy the physical sensations of sex, and as a result you frequently seek out partners to have sex with. You don't really have a preference as to the gender of who you have sex with as long as they have acceptable hygiene, personality, etc.

Scenario #4

You are a female. You find yourself turned on by both males and females, whether it be watching them on the street, or watching them in porn. You enjoy masturbating to fantasies. However, you never desired to have sex with anyone, and in you're past sexual relationships, the only reason you initiate sex is to please your partner.

I can't vote because of my answer to #2:

1) Homosexual

2) Demisexual (Demi-Heterosexual)

3) Pansexual

4) Asexual

Anyway, all of these could potentially qualify as asexual, since you haven't talked about sexual attraction. This is just how I would personally describe myself if I were in the situations you listed.

I intentionally didn't mention sexual attraction because everyone has a different opinion as to what exactly it is.

Well in my opinion sexual orientation is more or less based off of sexual attraction/what gender you prefer to have sex with...its complicated.

Bisexual, Heterosexual (though also possibly demi), Asexual, Asexual.

1) Bisexual. Or homosexual if the person never seeks out sex with females (it's not specified in the scenario, but I guess you implied so).
2) Heterosexual. I don't think this person is necessarily demisexual, because she might also desire sex with other guys, but chose not to act on it.
3) Pansexual.
4) Asexual.

Homosexual, Heterosexual, Pansexual and Asexual.

Recently I just personally don't consider getting aroused by someone as sexual attraction. I've heard sexual arousal is just a body response but doesn't mean you're interested in having sex with that person. I can get aroused by porn but doesn't mean I want to have sex with those people involved.

This, word for word. Took me a time to decide on where to vote on 1) exactly because of that lack of specification regarding his desire for sex with women. If he doesn't, then I'd most certainly call myself homosexual if I were him.

I'd say

  1. homosexual
  2. heterosexual
  3. hedonist asexual
  4. asexual

Hedonist is Greek for pleasure-seeker, more or less, and I think that it is the best description for #3.

Note: I am not necessarily using "hedonist" for any of its connotations, just the denotation.

I'd say... Nobody knows what orientation those are. People will have a catalogue of reasons other than stated they would ID as, there's no clear answer to any of those. I personally wouldn't have to use a label on things if I had traits in those hypothetical questions. I'll just go with the flow really.

Heterosexual on the first one (possibly bi-romantic, or something- attraction =\= behavior)

Bisexual on the second one (strong preference for the opposite sex, but still has some semblance of attraction to the same sex)

Asexual on the third one (no sexual attraction, possibly pan-romantic or just aromantic and doesn't care about sexual partner's gender)

I said bisexual for the last one, but I would probably classify this person as grey-asexual, and their sexual attractions happen to be towards both men and women, despite said attractions being so weak that it is not worth it to initiate sex, aside from pleasing a partner.

For the record I went homosexual, heterosexual, pansexual, asexual. To me it just makes practical sense to choose your orientation based on who you want to have sex with, because that is what most people seem to care about.

Asexual

Bisexual

Could be different answers for each of the scenarios though, it's generally hard to say.
