My favourite sci-fi show is steins;gate! I'm rewatching it right now ^_^

it was originally a visual novel game, but was adapted into anime, and I think the anime is a really good adaption!

@Sammie M You have good taste.

I'd say so, other than the Star Wars. It should be top tier

Star Wars ALL THE WAY here too, btw I love the quote at the bottom of your posts. I'm kicking myself for not starting Andor yet! What do you think about Thrawn?

Futurama

I have watched black mirror when it was channel 4 but haven't watched it since moving to netflix but meaning to get back to it.

I watched 4th and 5th season of rock & mortgage on e4 but it was ok, but I didn't think it was great.

Futurama is brilliant.

Star Trek (the original series and Next Generation - haven't seen much else)

Star Wars (including the animated series, the spin-offs such as The Mandalorian and Andor, as far as I have watched as there is still quite a bit I haven't watched yet)

Babylon 5

The Orville

Twilight Zone and Outer Limits

MCU (at least the more sci-fi parts)

probably others I'm not thinking of right now

I think my favorite science fiction show would have to be warehouse 13, although shows like resident alien and doctor who are definitely up there

I remember loving the Swedish kids' show "Tillbaka till vintergatan" growing up 😌 (which would translate to "Back to the Milky Way" - though we call it the "Winter Street" :P)

Of the ones mentioned, I've watched the first six Star Wars movies (and it was a 'home-made' (by a friend, still my GM) Star Wars RPG that got me into TRPGs), and a fair bit of Star Trek ☺️

I just picked the one I've watched. For rating maybe something like the following (but only roughly, actually some of these are not really compareable and there are different parts of different quality):

1.) Star Wars, Battlestar Gallactica, Altered Carbon, Rick and Morty, Doctor Who
2.) Futurama, Black Mirror, The Expanse
3.) Westworld

Most of them I haven't seen, and of the few that I have, my opinions range from 'mildly entertaining' to 'god this is stupid and I can't stand it'. I like things with slightly mysterious paranormal themes at times, depending on the actual plot line, but for the most part I really don't like outright science fiction. It just bores or annoys me, and sometimes confuses me.

Although Wikipedia tells me that Lost apparently falls under the category of science fiction, and I absolutely loved that show to a fairly obsessive degree. I'm not sure I actually think of it as sci fi though.

Oh yeah, that's one I forgot but really enjoyed when I watched it some time ago.

I also liked Firefly, even though it didn't get many episodes.

I haven’t seen all of Firefly, but it was on live last night. It used to be my parents favorite shows.

No Babylon 5 either.

Dark was also great.

Star Wars

Doctor Who

Futurama

The Expanse

I could've voted for The Mandalorian, but I haven't even finished season 1 and I'm kind of sick of all these Star Wars.

Shocked to see that Babylon 5 is not on this list, yet Odyssey 5 (which most people have never heard of) and Altered Carbon (which, quite frankly, is shit) are. Firefly should've also been there, since it does have a lot of fans despite its awfulness.

  • almost all iterations of Star Trek (and the original)
  • Star Wars...but more so the original trilogy, Rogue One, and the TV shows than most of the rest
  • Doctor Who...but I never got into NuWho...I do enjoy Classic Who
  • The X-Files
  • The Expanse
  • Battlestar Galactica
  • The 4400 (the original series)
  • Babylon 5
  • Futurama (though I don't think I watched past season 6 or so)
  • Black Mirror
  • Sealab 2021

Sci-fi shows I tried to get into but it didn't totally work out:

  • Red Dwarf
  • Farscape
  • Millennium (X-Files spin-off)
  • Crusade (Babylon 5 spin-off)
  • Caprica (Battlestar Galactica prequel)

Do you count Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Twin Peaks?  Loved both.
