TheConfusedPanda
Hello. I am a 16 year old male and I've recently come to questioning whether I am asexual. I have never had a crush or felt any physical attraction to somebody in real life, male or female. Also I am not interested in having sex with anybody. However I regularly masteurbate and watch porn. I find the porn arousing yet I never feel the desire to have sex with the woman on screen. Am I Asexual?
TheConfusedPanda
Also kissing just seems repulsive to me. How can that be arousing or hot?
emerygrace
There are many many asexuals who masturbate and many who don't, what makes you on the spectrum is the lack of sexual attraction, so even though that's a question only you can truly answer, what youve described does match the description. LilJul02
I think of the word asexual as an umbrella term for anyone who doesn't experience sexual attraction towards others, so that includes those who masturbates or not, finds porn appealing or not, and etc. (enjoying porn =/= sexual attraction) Here's the link to the AVEN wiki if you wanna read up more about asexuality and the terminology: http://www.asexuality.org/wiki/index.php?title=Attraction#Sexual_Attraction Whether or not you are asexual, it's up to you to identify with asexuality. And if you're still puzzled then know that it's fine to be left questioning about your orientation as long as you're okay with not knowing, and the AVEN community is always open for people who wants to learn more about asexuality or are still questioning whether or not they're asexual. There's no rush (and I believe you can't rush self-knowledge).
EmpathyAce
If you don't experience sexual attraction, chances are you are an asexual. Like the others said, you can be an asexual and still masturbate/watch porn. While some asexuals can have a drive, they still would lack the attraction. If you feel comfortable identifying as asexual and you think it suits you, then I say go for it, man! :)
WünderBâhr
One big thing to note is that asexuality is not exclusively tied with behavior. I think a lot of people struggle with asexuality or coming to terms with how they identify because they think any sexual activity means that they can't be asexual. It can be confusing, especially given how prevalent sex and sex-related things are in society as motivation for the way cultures operate ("sex sells" and "romance=sex" mentalities), but it's a lot more complicated than that. I can't really add much more than what other posters have already stated. The AVENWiki is a great resource and the forums are there to browse through, if you like. :) Welcome to the community.
