xLiraelx
I just ordered one! hmf, i just measured my finger with a bit of tape and a ruler. Is it going to be the wrong size? It was super cheap though, I could easily get another. I prefer wearing jewelry on my left hand-does that change the meaning/make it not an ace ring?
Guest
I used to wear mine all the time.... until I accidentally dropped it in a lake. I probably shouldn't be trusted with jewelry
SkyWorld
I try to wear mine everyday. There was one day that I forgot to wear it. Though most of the time I wear it, even when I'm sleeping so I don't lose it. I only take it off when I'm washing my hands, brushing my teeth, showering, washing my hair, and when I'm preparing food. Otherwise, I try to wear it as often as I can.
SweetieBot
I wear mine everyday, but I do take it off for sleeping and showering/bathing. Basically I take it off when I go to sleep and put it back on when I'm getting dressed in the morning.
DigitalBookDust
I plan on wearing mine 24/7. It should be here any day now. I had a difficult time finding a woman's size 4 (small finger) but finally found one at Amazon in tungsten. I plan on telling people what it stands for, if they comment on it. Plus it will go well with my steampunk look! :)
ElectricMongoose
I only take it off when I sleep. It's taking over my hand and soon my mind. [@_@]
Skycaptain
Unless doing something messy, like painting, I wear mine all the time. Even though it is the only adornment I wear, and I only acquired it last Autumn, I still feel lost (and slightly panicky) if I don't have it on.
Colorful6String
I haven't been able to get one because my parents would see... ._. I want one though D:
SkyWorld
I haven't been able to get one because my parents would see... ._. I want one though D: Oh, I was afraid of what my mom and grandma would think, so I just told my mom that I wanted a black ring. When she asked why, I just said, "I think it looks cool!" And she just shrugged and agreed. My grandma commented saying that it looks morbid, but she doesn't bug me about it. Nobody has said a word about it since and they don't really mind. I just haven't told them that it was my "ace ring".
Mycroft is Yourcroft
Sometimes I can go a week without removing it at all, then I can go a month where I just forget. It also depends on whether or not I'm wearing another ring that I like, as I often don't wear two rings at the same time.
thatonederpface
So far I've been wearing mine pretty much every day. Sometimes I take it off to sleep, but usually not. It's a bit loose most of the time at home, but when I'm out and about it actually fits me fairly tightly. I'm not quite sure what's up with that, but it stays on most of the time so I can't really complain. Mine is a black One Ring replica, like the one someone mentioned earlier in this thread. It's made of stainless and was priced about $3. I can't complain about prices like that! :D
Chanter
I seldom take mine off, the exceptions usually being when I'm working on the pottery wheel or glazing something. Cleaning underglaze off a ring is one thing, but getting slip all over it is another! Yecch. Other than that, it generally stays on most of the time. Mine is actually a grey ring rather than a black one. It's charcoal grey tungsten carbide and quite heavy. I've actually been clocked as on the ace spectrum because of it! Only once so far, but I'll take it. :)
MissLunarWolf
Whenever I remember to ^_^. Mine's a little tight, so I take it off at nights.
Kisrah
I only wear my ring when I'm going out most of the time. If there's any risk of getting it damage of it getting lost or damaged, I won't put it on. It doesn't help that the fit seems to alter so much during the day too! Some times it's a bit tight, then later on it'll slide up and down my finger quite freely. I'm thinking I should get a different size as a backup! xD Just to reiterate, it's middle finger/right hand for asexuality. Swingers (a private community) also wear a black ring on the right hand to identify themselves, though not specifically on the middle finger - just something to bear in mind. I think anyone who wears the ring probably knows what finger to put it on, but I didn't know there was another group that used a black ring on the right hand as a symbol too. I think that's really cool! Since they're kind of anti-ace (by anti I mean opposite), and I really like how on one of the web pages they have that explains their rings, they ask members of their community to not wear their ring on their middle finger out of respect for the ace community. I keep seeing people asking Asexual blogs on Tumblr about which finger it goes on, and they keep answering wrong. >_< I mean, they DO mention it's supposed to be the right hand, and the middle finger, but then they'll say something like "whatever's most comfortable". I can't imagine many asexuals wanting to be mistaken for being a swinger! *facepalm*
MissLunarWolf
I can't imagine many asexuals wanting to be mistaken for being a swinger! *facepalm* Hahahaha! That'd be SO awkward! (for me, at least)
IAmNoBird
I've had mine for a little over a week, and I've been wearing it all the time except for showering and sleeping. It's just a smidge too big (it wasn't available in half sizes, but it's still not too bad considering I used an online ring sizing guide) so I've been worried about it falling off, but it hasn't yet. NudistOnStrike
I wear mine 24/7 for the most part. It only comes off for sports, showers, and when I am doing stuff with my hands. When its not on I actually rub the spot it would be since i like to spin it around on my finger when it is on.
Khoshekh's Kitten
I keep mine in my car and put it on when I go out. I take it off sometimes when working because it's too big and I'm afraid I'll lose it even with a sizer on it. No one has asked about it, but no one's asked about the decoder ring I wear on the middle finger of my left hand either so I don't think anyone is interested in my jewelry. My Ace ring is a cheap one I got at a kiosk in the mall. I'm considering buying a nicer one that fits better. A store clerk did keep obviously looking at it one day and she came over and struck up a conversation while I was browsing the aisles. I think she might have known what it was and wanted to ask about it.
whitelines
I've had mine for a little over a week, and I've been wearing it all the time except for showering and sleeping. It's just a smidge too big (it wasn't available in half sizes, but it's still not too bad considering I used an online ring sizing guide) so I've been worried about it falling off, but it hasn't yet. Mine's slightly too big too, and whenever I'm afraid it might fall off, I just take it off and put it in my pocket (so that if I forget to put it back on, its still on me, or, when I'm showering, sitting on top of my underwear so that there's no way I'll fail to see it when I get out!). I've started wearing it 24/7 except when showering (the ring gets slippery because of the water and sometimes feels like it'll fall off), when washing my hands in sinks that have large drains, when taking clothes out of the washing machine, stuff like that. Any time when I'll be doing a lot of grabbing things and putting them down where the ring could come loose, since it's big. Minimize the potential for tragedy.
Dakow
I wear it always. Except when sleeping or showering or such. I've gotten a couple compliments on it, I think someone asked about it once (other than my parents, to whom I gave a non-answer since I'm not quite ready for that yet). I wear it for myself mostly though; I like it, it reflects a part of my identity, and at this point I'm just used to having it on my finger.
TheLycanthrope
I'm guessing than an "Ace Ring" is a ring that identifies you as asexual. I don't wear jewelry and I don't exactly like to flaunt openly what I support, stand for etc. especially with music and political views. . . but would I wear one? I am trying to improve my image and look more polished, masculine and approachable so if it goes well with my attire then I suppose I would not mind one!
dissolved
Mine is black aluminium and I only take it off to go in the shower, bath etc.
dio
More often now than I used to. Ring upgrade and the right size did it for me. Before I was wearing my ring less than half of the time, now I'd say I'm wearing my Ace ring about 75% of the time. Given the fact that certain athletics and certain art forms and musical instruments require the ring to be off for a bit to protect the ring or to protect the finger. You know, "the finger" ..you might need that one for several reasons in your life :)
