AWF
There's nothing wrong with abstinence, it just seems rather arbitrary to wait until marriage from a visceral point of view. But there ought to be a few reasons why it would be a good idea: such as limiting the spread of STIs, for one.

There is also the chance the couple won't marry and regret not saving themselves for the spouse they do marry. Just seems worth the wait.

My point is that that is completely dependent on an individual's philosophies. I would suggest that most "regrets" are a learning experience, and the rest are something that just can't be changed and are unworthy of obsession. But now we're just tossing our personalities at each other in a rather insubstantial debate. Another reason I thought of is reducing unplanned pregnancy.
Ace Griff
Having sex just for the sake of sex isn't all that hard for me to understand. It seems like people just enjoy it. What's really hard to get is, why do people link it with love and want to do it so much with their significant other. Like.... If sex and love are totally different stuff, why link them together? I really don't get the connection.

Sally
We don't have to get the connection. There's not much point in trying to figure out why someone likes something you don't, or vice versa.

I am here due to failed birth control. Case and point there are consequences cause not everyone gets married just because of a pregnancy (shot gun wedding). It can have an effect on everyone involved including the child in question.

I am here due to failed birth control. Case and point there are consequences cause not everyone gets married just because of a pregnancy (shot gun wedding). It can have an effect on everyone involved including the child in question. It was never my intention to suggest otherwise. But when used correctly, birth control fails negligibly. In instances resulting in undesired pregnancy there are options, not that I think that's a topic for this thread.
