Asexuality in webcomics...

I don't know if this has been mentioned here before, because I haven't been around much recently. But anyway: there's an asexual character called Collin in a webcomic called Boy Meets Boy.

Some strips where he appears:

Eh, I like it. I know that the comic is about homosexuals and that their relationship isn't exactly asexual... but still. I dunno. *feels really stupid for posting this now*

Well, ah, look at the bright side! (thinks really really hard) Uh... asexuality was... mentioned!! So... maybe even if it wasn't *accurate*, aan asexual person will one day stumble across the comic and learn the word "asexual" and say, "Hey! That's me! :D " and we'll have another new member of AVEN!!! Yeah!!!

Er...

Actually... that sounded kind of stupid. :?

Heh, not as stupid as me. >_<

I do know quite a few asexuals who are fond of that comic, though...

Even though the comics made me smile (okay, smirk. A little), I have to admit it sounds like something to support the false "Asexuals are gay but just repressing" theory :?

And here I used to like that comic. I haven't read it since before that character showed up, but I don't think I'm fond of an asexual being portrayed as a grumpy people-hating hypocrite. ><;
