I live in reality only when its absolutely necesarry - such as passing school. Other than that I live inside my mind a lot.

Tanwen, I'm a Piscean too (so's my mother, her late mother & grandmother)-!

And I am truly pragmatic (which is why my 'oriental' sign is fire pig.)

I deal, day in & day out, with fantasies (that's my job) but I am - at the ground/earthed level- a scientist.

I live in between - but keep them very distinctly away from each other.

When I was younger I used to mix my fantasy and reality and it made it very difficult to relate to people - I'd imagine what I want them to say or do and how I would want them to treat and love me, then interacting with them was awkward because it was never like I imagined.

So now I try to be in reality when I am there and be very realistic about relationships -never expecting too much and never fantasizing or day dreaming about real people.

But I still keep a very active imagination where I create characters and otherworlds... if I come up with something really good I use it when I'm writing.

I am a Piscean, so is my mother and my sister

but apparently i am too realistic and too unromantic, that people tend not to think i am a piscean

I voted in between.

It is good to use your imagination. I think it makes life more interesting.

Opel, dunno why Pisceans have got this dreamy ineffectual schema attached to them (us!) Most Pisceans I know (as well as from my mother, Nana, etc.) are very bloody pragmatic - we do seem to have better hearing however (whoops! *anecdotal* evidence only, and a hatred of closed minds, ditto-) - western terms, as i think about it - we are both fish & fishers, we *have to be* practical...

Impractical fish are the ones sundried on their sturdy little upright fins-

I don't live in reality ... but I think that leaking my imagination into reality is my goal in life. That way, I won't have to like "convert" to reality or something, I'll just stain the world with my insanity .. and the world will like it and the world will accept me like that.

At least. .. that's my evil plan ... my scheme ... one day ... oh one day ...

E Cait! - that's what I *do* - that's my living!

(It doesnt, however, alter my perception of reality.)

Wait, are you saying you can successfully make money off of that? ;)

I've daydreamed for as long as I can remember... my parents have put me on drugs to keep me in the "real world," and my best friends get freaked out by how unapologetically idealistic I seem. v-v; Why am I the only one, seemingly, not content with reality?

Here is another daydreamer. I think it's a nice way to fill time when I'm cycling or cleaning up the house. I meet very interesting people that way, haha! :D

And I make fantasy costumes and go to festivals all dressed up as an elf, that has nothing to do with real life! I organize all these family-meetings, conquering castles, ghost-tours etc.

Because toothy monsters surfing waves of lava while fighting off machinegun-wielding sharks on a smiley, sunshiny day are that much more awesome than whatever my professors are talking about...

*votes "daydreamer"*

That is so AWESOME! I wouldn't mind conquering a castle or going on a ghost tour.... :D

I hallucinate. I try hard to stay to differentiate between reality and dreams/hallucinations, but it isn't always possible.

I'm not sure how to vote either. I'll have a think and come back.

I am a day dreamer, in the sense that I have a very active imagination that's going almost of the time. But ideaolgy, no. I am a very practical and realistic person.

I'm another one who only deals with reality when absolutely necessary. Other than that, I'm in a happy fantasy world. It keeps me sane.

Reality is for people with no imagination. :B

Don't get me wrong, I can certainly face down reality when I have to, but more often than not I live in my head. It's not always the nicest of places, but it's a heckuva a lot more interesting than every day life's been in recent years. And it helps me come up with ideas for stuff, as well as dealing with whatever's going on elsewhere, so I certainly don't see how it's a bad thing. In fact, I wish more adults I knew viewed it the same way: it seems like almost everyone I know just lost whatever imagination they once had as they got older, and it's bunk. Probably the reason they view me as being chidlish, too.

Not sure how to vote though, cos despite my active imagination, I really do have quite realistic expectations when it comes to what's actually going on around me. I find it impossible to idealise anything, likely because I've had a lot of disappointments.

Lots of peeps probably live in their own reality, which differs from person to person.

And you--the person reading this post--perhaps you do not exist at all.

This describes me very well, too! I've even used that exact phrase, "Reality is for people with no imagination", many times. Not sure where I got it from. :)

I'm too realistic. It's kind of a bummer for most people I know. But when alone or trying to think of what I'm going to say in a stresseful situation (Say, having to apologize to my ex) I escape to an inner stage and figure it out there by imagining me and the other person there. My favorite place is an Arctic tundra right now with snow and a frozen river.

I live in reality because reality is awesome. It has far greater payoffs than the safe, lukewarm, familiar waters of one's mind. I was cocooned in mine for much of my teen years and I don't want that kind of life back. I strive to grow a thick skin so I don't have to block away any part of reality.

And yes, I have an imagination. I can imagine things most vividly. Since so many have felt compelled to diss reality and those who relish it, I'll say that escapism is for the weak and impotent. The thought that you're locked up in your imaginary world and others aren't because other people don't have imagination or are some sort of mindless sheep is but a comforting delusion.
