These aren't political parties; they're terms to describe where on the political spectrum you fall.

Along with what Beloved said, what "spectrum" are we talking about? American conservatism is not European conservatism or Japanese conservatism. Each region's idea of conservative and liberal is different. And are we talking social spectrum? Economic? Political?

I'm not a member of any party.

I'm a left winger, but more "radical" than liberals. Also, I don't identify with a party. I have political beliefs that don't match any of the politicians' programmes where I live.

I usually vote for the Socialists, but that's mostly because they've got the best policies for this region. I'd vote for the Liberals but they never submit a candidate for election in this town.

+1. I've got the most overlap in my views with the Left and the Greens over here, tend to make my crosses at one of these two in elections.

Centrist, but I mostly vote liberals/Democrat. I don't have any particular liking for Democrats, but I deeply hate conservatives/Republicans based on their common stances regarding abortion, military spending, and especially green energy and the environment. Oh, religion too.

Oh I vote for either blanque or liberal - but our form of liberal is very different from yours.

Voted centrist. To be specific, being from Canada, I flip flop between the Liberals and Conservatives.

I vote for the Greens, as I agree with a lot of their policies. I don't label myself as liberal though, because the actual Liberal party in Australia isn't actually liberal at all.

I don't have a party, I'm a registered Independent. But my views on most things are on the liberal side, with some more conservative on certain topics.

Is very liberal and lives in the United States, and therefore often votes for neither D nor R.

I tend to favour more socialist and far-leftist ideals, but it depends on where I am living and what the platforms are in that election. When I was registered in my parents' suburb I voted Liberal (Ontario, Canada) bc no one there votes anything other than Liberal or Conservative, so voting Green or NDP would be a waste. When I lived in Montreal I voted NDP bc there WAS no Green party candidate in my riding and the BQ (Bloc Quebecois) get very separatist and sometimes a bit racist (and ALWAYS uber pro francophone quebecoise and anti everyone else), though generally a lot of their policies aren't bad otherwise (IMO, of course).

I do wish that democracy actually allowed us to vote on our opinions & values and not just the 'package deals' of political platforms. That is, getting to vote in the actual issues or saying "I think arts funding is important so don't cut it this budget" or "I would rather pay that extra 0.5% property tax if you would add better recycling and compost to garbage pick-up", etc. Not everyone who believes in conservative fiscal policy is pro-army and anti-socially liberal and having to choose when you have beliefs like that just gives the wrong impression to politicians.

Not really applicable. Mine's skirt between socially democratic and liberalism, the center to left of center. A utilitarian and pro-European.

Gwydion: Oh goodness where to start, a staunch nationalist, environmentalist, striving for social justice, equal healthcare and a fully independent Wales :)

European centrist.

There are questions in which I agree with liberals and social democrats and questions were I agree with conservatives. I'm keeping a close eye on the Green party as well, they have established themselves over the last few years and I want to see where they're taking their politics.

I am neither liberal nor conservative. I am neither democratic, nor am I republican. I am in the middle I am neutral. I think there is a proper word for it, but I forgot what it is.

U.K. Conservative. Does not go down well in my neck of the woods. Border line hanging offence. The tories are not liked oop North.

Child: "Mother, are tories born wicked, or do they grow wicked afterwards?"

Mother: "No child. They are born wicked, and grow worse afterwards."

I'm generally supportive of the UK Lib Dems, as I'm strongly Liberal and slightly left of centre.

Anarchist, here. :) Though I don't believe a positive anarchy is currently feasible where I am, so I'm fine with minarchism and panarchism too. As far as the spectrum goes, I don't properly fall on it.

None of the above. I like liberal portions of food, labour hard, have conservative musical tastes, agree with the UK staying independent (especially from the US, unlike some of our politicians) I like solar power so I must be green, are there any I've missed other than the blatantly racist, which I'm not

I am politically independent, but ideologically libertarian. I wish the government would butt out of peoples' personal lives and focus on the things it was designed to focus upon.

Would the word be 'independent'?
