I think it is purely a site for sex, if people expect a relationship from it they must be delusional. It is a terrible idea for an app.

Yeah, it shouldn't be called a dating app.  Maybe a sex app.

Why do people always assume that when you say you like someone you have romantic intentions? I just like you as a person. Why must that be hard so understand

That wears off with age, when more people become mature enough to express actual emotions instead of safe euphemisms that ruin the actual meaning of words.

Sticking it out with Grey's Anatomy through now 15 seasons, 13 years, seeing characters that are mixed race, devoutly religious, atheist, autism spectrum, gay, lesbian, bi, teenagers in love, older couples getting divorced, nymphomaniac, poised, awkward, liberal, conservative, coming from the streets, coming from serious money, all-American, multicultural, one of if not the most diverse casts of any tv show.

And not a single ace character. Not even an ace patient. Nope, all the characters in shondaland must be banging someone and, on top of that, their sexuality must be immediately obvious. Even seemingly celibate characters have to get "broken in" to their "inevitable biological desires". What gives, Rhimes?

People calling you childish or a late bloomer for not being interested in sex. No, I'm just bored with that kind of talk.

Or, if you have a cynical attitude like me, you’re apparently one one-night stand away from being cured of your negativity. Whenever I say something like, “The idea of romance and sex bores me,” at worst I’m treated like a heretic and at best I’m treated like a poor stray lamb who has to be guided to the holy sex dungeon to have my eyes opened. No, I don’t want to go to the strip club or see girls in their undergarments; I’d rather waste my money on something else TYVM.

Same goes with House MD,

where the only “asexual” was apart of a pathological basis.

No respect for us huh?

That episode made me so frustrated. I honestly had to stop watching it for a while after that.

Does anyone know of any shows where we actually get proper representation???

I’d force them to compensate and make a asexual friendly tv show.

african americans have a show, lgbt (no asexuals what so ever) have a show, asians have a show. But no show for us!?

I saw a video about ace representation where that episode was brought up, it really bothered me because it then seemed like all aces had this same or very similar problem. It is just insulting that we can’t just be ace, we must have something wrong with us that makes us this way.

Obviously this means that we need to create our own. I'm virtually certain there's some great ideas for a show floating around here!

An ace sitcom a la 'Friends' would be amazing.

That episode was supposed to have the person to be actually asexual.  But, the executives felt it was an impossible situation, and didn't want House to be wrong, so, they forced the writers to change the ending.

Which execs? I wouldn't want to accidentally boycott stuff by the people who didn't want to do that with the show.

The visual novel thing I'm playing seems to be giving a lot of chances to pair up my character with another person. No one seems to care who is paired with who so they could be bi or pan. I just found a non-binary character because they pronouns were used. Now I'm thinking, why couldn't I be non-binary? I'm now paired up with that guy who asked my character to prom because I didn't know I could stay single.

My lab partner and I had a conversation about her marriage and then she turned it on me and asked about my romantic / sexual life. I told her I don't have one, she instantly started telling me how she has single friends she could "hook" me up with.... "No I don't want a relationship, I'm good" I said, she couldn't believe that so she kept trying to find reasons in my past that would prevent me from wanting to be in a relationship. " No, this isn't because of some repressed childhood trauma" I told her.

Finally after a solid hour of this she finally looked at me and said "wow it's just surprising that there are any guys left in the world who aren't horny 24/7"

Me: "I highly doubt men are horny 24/7, I think thats just the men you hang around and/or the media you are exposed to..."

----------------------------------------------------

Me to myself: "I do exist just like unicorns and dragons" 🦄🐉

"Don't take this the wrong way, but... why are you asexual?"

And what, pray tell, is the wrong way? What do you seem to think is the right way?! I didn't care for that conversation...

My new college friends making sex jokes and then apologizing or trying to explain them. I grew up closely with 4 older brothers, I was bound to pick up something.

Those people ought to be asked why they're straight/gay/bi/pan then.
