Sanguinia
Sorry, I'm dense, but can someone explain to me the relevance of "effanineffable" and "53x + m^3 = O/" to the asexual community? I found both slogans on shirts in the asexual store...
TheSMMG
As I understand it "ineffable" is a play on the sound of the word and means "unf****able"; thus "effanieffable" is "f***ing unf****able"! As to the equation thing - I am just as much in the dark as you...
Cate Perfect
The equation is leet speak--computer dork speak. Basically it says sex+me=no. The dictionary version of 'ineffable' is: indescribable. Cate

cijay
I wondered about the equation shirt, too but thought I was just the only person who couldn't figure it out.
bard of aven
Well, the dictionary definition is "unable to be expressed in words." And (deja vu all over again ) T. S. Eliot used it to speak of cats contemplating their "ineffable, effable, effanineffable" names. My theory is that effan is as close as you could get to having "fucking" printed in a book of poetry when he was writing. So if the first [e]ff stans for "fuck", why shouldn't the second? boa
Goonie
I wondered about the equation shirt, too but thought I was just the only person who couldn't figure it out. It took me a little while to figure it out.
Shockwave
Yeah, the equation shirt was meant to be cryptic. I didn't want the meaning to be too obvious.
