silvernlilac
This mentions asexuality. I found some of the comments really hurtful and offensive. It makes me so angry how people think there is something wrong with you or you are weird for not liking sex. Seriously, wish the world would get over themselves and accept not everyone is sex obsessed. Anyway heres the link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2408482/Online-dating-platonic-partners-uk-creativesdating-com-lead-new-trend-platonic-connections.html
Guest Melmoth.
I read the article and the comments, I wouldn't worry too much though. The Daily Mail isn't really known for its reader's having open minds.
Vyanni Krace
One comment that really got me was this: 'She promotes platonic dating. Whilst posing for a full length photo in a short dress with legs on display.' Because apparently wearing a dress that doesn't stretch beyond your knees means you're gagging for it. <_<

And since we were not a couple, we had to be FF's. Hmm, but it still amaze me, I am male, she female, and it was no sexual or romantic feelings in play!
RoL34
I don't think wanting a relationship without sex is as odd as Daily Mail wants you to think it is. I think most of the world is just completely oblivious to other people's methods. There is no way this "no sex" thing just sprung up, they're just finally being put into the limelight.
jardin
Hehe. I think it's funny. But what can you do? I'm genderless/agender and I wear skirts all the time, usually at or right above the knee and I wear women's t-shirts that dip a bit and sometimes show the line before cleavage. I wear these things everyday because I live in Florida, USA and it's amazingly HOT AND HUMID and thank God/gods/Universe, sometimes BREEZY. Don't tell that to most men and women though. Interestingly enough, fortunately and unfortunately, folks have no clue about what my sexuality really is and don't ask.

When I was physically at university for grad school and living nearby, I lived with two males; one dating my then best friend. The other dude and I would regularly go grocery shopping together, and I guess we 'looked good together' because folks in the stores and working there would assume we were a couple. We'd just have fun with it and play along!

We'd just have fun with it and play along! Every time a girl and a boy at my school become close friends, rather than just mates, the whole school suddenly thinks they're going out together/love each other but aren't going out yet/should be together and are absolutely meant to be OMG!!!!111! <---------------= <_< I've experienced it before. If you interact with a person of the opposite sex too much you're instantly accused of having a crush on them and people suddenly seem to start shipping you. Even if the interaction is just you two constantly arguing/bantering then walking away and ranting to your friends about how annoying they are, people will jump to the conclusion that your both 'in denial'. -_-

Either that, or ply them all with chocolates. Oh, wait, that wouldn't help, would it? Giving gifts and all... I read the article, and with that I'm pretty much fine. Seems quite ordinary, nothing glaringly objectionable (unless I missed a line somewhere?). The dress looks normal. The first page of comments wasn't impressive; I'll stop there, thanks. Eilera
A fairly decent article, though as mentioned the comments are disgusting. Such as this lovely gem: "I dread to think what other qualities a woman who doesn't have physical desires, or a passionate pleasure drive, will be devoid of;- art, music, poetry, cooking, eating, drinking, life etc. If you have no interest in the ecstatic heights of physical pleasure, then your senses have already become half dead inside - like the emptiness of vegetarianism. Instead of teasing men and picking their pockets, please just go and buy a lot of cats." Because obviously if you have no interest in sex then you must not have an interest in anything. I always am scared to read the comments on articles about asexuality/platonic relationships for this very reason. The comments are always so hateful and I can't help my morbid curiosity and end up reading them. One day maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised to see mostly positive comments. I've pondered long and hard as to why people seem to have such trouble understanding it. I guess its hard to wrap your brain around an entirely different way of thinking. That's fine. But that doesn't mean you need to be nasty about it. Just accept the fact that you'll never understand it, but at least you can accept that there are people out there who are (gasp!) different. I don't understand why people get so upset, it has nothing to do with them and it hurts no one. It just makes me so angry.

Funny. I'm asexual AND a vegetarian, yet I seem to be managing life just fine. No emptiness here. Perhaps this person is merely projecting? Maybe they're the ones who are 'empty' and 'devoid of all pleasures in life' and 'half dead inside' and are trying to compensate for it by accusing other people they do not understand of being the same way, trying to feel better about their miserable selves?

It must be so difficult for you to get by in life without the ultimate pleasure of sexual intercourse and the deliciousness that is meat. It obviously means you are less of a person and more of an empty shell just existing for the purpose of making others feel better about themselves. And in case that didn't come through in text format, I am being sarcastic. :D This guy is an idiot. I guess this bit here is the biggest hint that he's obviously been burned by women in the past and now he believes that all women are evil, money grabbing snobs.
