Elnae Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 So I was just reading the news headlines this morning and the following article caught my eye. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22946672 About halfway down the page on the right hand side, there is a small piece discussing whether or not Buchanan was the first gay President and the expert is quoted as saying that he believes Buchanan was Asexual not gay. Not sure about how likely the claim is to be true, but it's an interesting hypothesis. :) It could be he just didn't want to be with anyone after his past fiancée, though. Completely agree. As soon as anyone isn't in a relationship with the opposite sex for a significant time people start asking "are they gay?" it's frustrating for them and us. I disagree with you about not caring regarding his sexuality, but only because I don't think the negative aspects of a person render their entire lives unworthy of consideration. Example, Thomas Jefferson; founding father; signer of the declaration of independence; widely considered one of the greatest of America's presidents; an "anti-slavery" slave owner who used his female slaves for sexual gratification (Sally Hemings).
