Does it bother you when people look at you up and down?

Recommended Posts

1.Do you imply that they're sexual because they liked looking up and down or just checking you out?

2.Do you seriously mean it means much?

3.Do you care or are you honestly indifferent?

4.Have you met anybody who admired the way your body is formed, but he/she isn't actually sexually attracted to you? Were you surprised?

I probably wouldn't even notice if people do this (I'm not really an eye contact person) but it doesn't bother me. Some people just like to get the full picture of whatever it is they're interacting with; I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm the same way, just not really with people.

It doesn't bother me....as a matter of fact, I find it flattering. I suppose it doesn't have to be sexual...they could be admiring your clothing..that does happen sometimes, but most of the time it's sexual. I have had people who thought I was handsome without being sexually attracted before.

1. Not necessarily, but I assume most people I meet on a daily basis are sexual anyway.

2. I don't feel it's too important, although I suppose it would give me a boost of confidence if someone looks at me in a good way.

3. It never bothers me when no-one looks, but if someone looks for a very long period or seems like they're being creepy, it bothers me a little.

4. I dunno. I don't talk to/meet that many people.

I dress up rather fashionably sometimes so I get looks like that from other women, usually nothing sexual about it. Being looked or stared at, at all makes me uncomfortable so I've made it a point to zone it all out. If anyone gives me the once over leer I seriously don't notice.

There was once a former coworker who made the joke that our workplace should have "naked Tuesdays" and then looked directly at me, and gave me a quick up and down. I like to think that he was just gauging me for shock value, because I really don't want to consider the other option. But all in all, it was a very uncomfortable experience.

Although this is the only situation I can think of where I may have been looked at in "a sexual manner" it's not really the thoughts or looks that bother me in the hypothetical situation, but an underlying fear that the person will act on those thoughts.

I usually don't care. It only bothers me when the person doing it gives off pedo or racist vibes. Once a guy licked his lips and raised his brow while looking me up an down. ...I'm not a meal...

I really don't notice at all if someone is doing that. Don't really imply that they are sexual, it don't mean much and question 4 is a little silly to answer. It's a more common gesture than anything to do with sexuality.

I tend to be pretty oblivious to my surroundings, especially when it comes to people's eyes, so if somebody checks me out I probably won't notice.

When I have been hit on in the past, I usually just feel awkward and want that person to go away. Yeah it's a compliment, but I don't like it when people focus their attention on me.

Ugh. I'd actually have called that sexual harassment...

I have horns, dreads, significant tattooing and large gauge piercings. People look me up and down all the time and it often has nothing to do with sexual attraction. If such made me uncomfortable, I wouldn't continue to engage in visible body modification. For me, its just a part of life and in truth, I enjoy standing out from a crowd. Often I don't even notice it anymore and its the people I'm with that will point it out to me.

1. Not really... I just think "Find anything you're looking for?" Not much other than that. I mean, they have the right to, lawl

2. Hmm... Nah. People can watch wherever they want, I don't mind.

3. Indifferent, really.

4. Nope. In fact... people don't look at me up and down. < . > Oh well.

1.) More often than not, yes they are sexual (I've only ever met one other asexual in person in my life).

2.) I don't believe it means much.

3.) I get profoundly freaked out and anxious if I know someone is looking at me as more than just a glance.

4.) I honestly don't know the answer to this one.

If I was looked up and down, I wouldn't connect it to sexual attraction, but rather aesthetics (either in a positive or negative way). Anyway, regardless it would make me feel uncomfortable, and no that's not indifference. It would make me want to crawl in a box if I'm honest. It'd be similar to the feeling as if you find someone staring at you intently while you're in underwear or a bathing suit... just kind of creepy-like.

If they then told me they were sexually attracted to me it'd take the whole thing to an even further creepy level.

I don't have people looking me up and down. If anything, if they DO look me up and down, it's probably due to my weight than sexual attraction - I'm a good 23 stone around 146.1 kilos) so people will stare. Thankfully they don't do that often (either that or I'm so used to things I no longer notice!).

However, I DO notice when it happens to other people - a lot - and it does creep me out. I remember one time I was speaking to a friend of mine while waiting for a bus a number of years ago, when this guy I knew came past and looked at her like a piece of meat. It completely creeped me out.

One thing that does bug me is when I just happen to look at someone and someone else assumes I've got sex on my mind. For example, I work at the Sgt's Mess as a kitchen porter, and when the meal is done for the Sgts, the food is placed on a trolley and wheeled around the back to the kitchen so that any member of staff wanting a meal can get a meal. Needless to say, it can get crowded as everyone circles the trolley for a bite to eat. One woman comes out and sometimes has to croach or bend over in order to get something from the bottom shelf - needless to say, there's a few men suddenly looking at her as she does that. After I've got myself a bite to eat, I have to maneouvre around everyone else so I can go find myself a chair to sit down on. I've been caught glancing at this one woman so I don't end up walking straight into her - but of course, I'm perving at her behind according to one bloke.

Oh my goodness. I've never even thought about people staring at my ass when I'm crouching down to get something before. Anxiety level has increased...

If I ever catch anyone eying me funny like that, the first thing I wonder is what problem they have with me. I do look/dress kinda weird sometimes IMO and I'm not fully over crap from my past so yeah.. xD I don't think I have ever caught anybody doing it in the sense that you mean, and I have never had anybody say anything about my body like that.

1.) No cause most of the time it's women who look at me up and down and mostly it's because they can't mind their own business about what I wear <_<

2.) No it doesn't.

3.) No I don't care honestly.

4.) Yes I have met ppl who complimented me on my body because I'm Size 0. I wasn't surprised because they weren't sexually attracted to me but more I was surprised because I am repulsed by my shape and I hate how I look because of it and to have someone actually find something nice to say about it caught me off guard.

I do it pretty often. I'm not trying to determine how sexually attractive someone is, I'm usually just looking at what they are wearing. I don't think I've ever actually noticed anyone looking at me like that so I have no clue whether it would bother me or not.

I really can't think of anytime where I have been looked up and down.I don't socialise and to be honest I live in a world of my own,but I have never noticed anyone do this to me.I have met people who have admired my body and told me so in a descriptive manner, but it was purely an admiration thing.People are always going to look and I don't mind if others are even thinking things about me,as long as they keep it to themselves.

1- No, I don't imply they're sexual. I myself have done it countless times.

2- It doesn't, I think it's just a way to look at the person as a whole.

3- I'm completely indifferent to it.

4- I don't think I've met anyone that admired my body, so I'd say they've looked up and down just for information :P I wasn't surprised, I don't find it weird nor disturbing.

I usually just say something like "Take a picture, it'll last longer!".
