iff
I would be really PROUD if my ancestors were from Greece. Country of Great Philosophical minds, who knows, maybe you are relative to Socrates or Plato. :D Thank you. I don't know cause they lived in ancient times but it would be so good cause i love both there are theories of people sharing common ancestries due to the number of people living back then, for example it is thought that europeans are all descended from charlemagne as an example with ancient greek society so few people living back then, it is highly likely that unless their descendant line stopped somewhere, you would be descended from them. there is another theory on this that everyone has some royal blood in them, though proving it is another matter but when genetic paths are mapped, common ancestors are shown and assumptions made in relation to these That most of the european nobility were descebdants from Karl the Great/Charlemagne*. not just nobility, all europeans http://phenomena.nationalgeographic.com/2013/05/07/charlemagnes-dna-and-our-universal-royalty/ In fact, as Chang suspected, the only way to explain the DNA is to conclude that everyone who lived a thousand years ago who has any descendants today is an ancestor of every European. Charlemagne for everyone!

Kuuya
Native Language: Finnish Other spoken languages: Fluent in English and Swedish, my German is probably a bit rusty... I also know some Japanese (to the point where I can listen to drama CDs and understand almost everything) Home country: Finland Country of residence: Finland Parents' home country: Finland Slightly off topic but... A classmate (originally from Russia) once told me it's not worth the effort to learn Finnish. His reasoning was as follows: It's a hard language to learn. When you finally learn, and try to have a conversation with a native Finnish speaking person, you won't understand them anyway because no one in Finland speaks the standard Finnish they taught you. I speak the Savo dialect from eastern Finland, so I found this hilarious. :D
