Winston Marrs Posted August 10, 2011 Share Posted August 10, 2011 I was curious to the community's input as to whether or not you feel that we need more asexual/asexuality related/oriented podcasts. A-life is the only currently active asexual podcast that I am aware of as unscrewed and illuminated seems to be quite dead in the water and I am not personally aware of other podcasts that are asexual oriented at the moment. If you feel that we need more ace podcasts, what reason or reasons do you feel that they are important and what would you like to personally see in an ace podcast? If you are aware of other ace oriented podcasts other than the ones mentioned, I would also love to be linked to them. Thank you for your time. I've been doing a bit of "market research" in order to see what would be expected and if there is enough of a demand for it, to warrant the project. I've talked to many privately and some publicly as to the receptiveness and nature (what people want) of a podcast. Podcasts on AVEN or Asexuality seem to die easily however or run short on interest/topics. I was surprised that many simply didnt want to download a podcast and preferred streaming content. An asexual radio station was brought up but the issue with that is simply that there is not enough material that isnt copyrighted to support a 6 hour block even with a talk show or two thrown in. Artists like to be paid royalties for their work. So while interesting the idea would be nigh impossible without major financial undertaking but even with that, no mass market appeal would mean radio death due to lack of revenue. Also, I love hearing new infomation about asexuality community. I wish we had more sources to listen. At this point, it's been nearly 3 months since the last A-life episode; and if there was to be another Asexual podcast, I'd hope it'd be more frequent than that. As part of ongoing Census organization, and in an attempt to keep the demographics of the polls current with the active user base at the time, the polls will last for one year from now on. However, members are allowed and even encouraged to re-start new polls similar to the archived ones if they like them.
