Adriatic
ooh i found a cat for us all to adopt: our new cat only just seen this thread, shame on me Yeah, I saw that on Google News this afternoon. What I don't understand is how tidily someone's dyed the cat. This isn't 'meh, let's dump a cat into a bucket of paint then go and set a car on fire,' this is practically professional. I'd be asking the RSPCA if they've recently rehomed any white cats to households including sociopathic Pokémon fans. Seriously. And the more off-topic stuff gets moved back into the yadathread eventually. You may have joined in discussions that began on here and not known it.
asexual cake
Charles, do tell. We sit and wait in antici....PATION. All in good time.
krossero
That is by far the best gif you've ever posted, Charles. (Aside from Aloysius, OF COURSE.)
asexual cake
What do you think about this one?
krossero
Oh, Charles.
Adriatic
What do you think about this one? I think that it quite unknowingly draws on and contributes to a persistent Othering of the Balkans by imagining an exotic, unreal Transylvania I think Tim Curry looks good in fishnets. (I'm partly an anthropologist. We overthink everything.)
asexual cake
Did you know that Tim Curry voiced Nigel Thornberry? I don't know if anyone else here is young or USian enough for that to mean much, but The Wild Thornberrys was one of the staples of my childhood. So this guy: was also this guy: Also, there is so much porn about the Wild Thornberrys. I had no idea. My childhood is now sullied. There's also this: I would say this was the single most disturbing thing I'd seen today if I hadn't also seen the porn.
krossero
Charles, you're killing me slowly with the awesome. But what a way to die. And please do not talk about Thornberry porn. Just, no. ETA: Actually, looking at his IMDB page, Tim Curry seems to have made his way into a somewhat significant portion of my childhood. Which would explain a lot, I suppose. ETA2: OH THE CORRUPTION OF MY MIND, THAT IMAGE.
asexual cake
ETA2: OH THE CORRUPTION OF MY MIND, THAT IMAGE. And that isn't the worst of it. We should make this relevant to being a transyada before this all gets moved, so I will say that this is illustrative of the kind of shenanigans we get up to - finding disturbing things, browsing Tumblr, being creepy - and that Dr. Frank-N-Furter most surely would have been among our ranks had he not been so absurdly sexual. krossero
I sort of just assumed that we were doing the public a favor by displaying our day-to-day behavior. Like a nature documentary, just for them!
mort paradis
I sort of just assumed that we were doing the public a favor by displaying our day-to-day behavior. Like a nature documentary, just for them! I like your thinking! And the Thornberrys' were part of my adolescence. I love that show.
asexual cake
And the Thornberrys' were part of my adolescence. I love that show. Never google images of Nigel Thornberry with the safe search off, then. Good lord.
krossero
Charles, I would ask how you find these things, except I'm afraid to know. Please don't ever tell me.
Brackets
I nearly had a brain aneurysm when I learned that Tim Curry was Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island. I never watched the Wild Thornberries, so that's my Tim-Curry-in-my-childhood moment.
WünderBâhr
I believe transyada could be used as a general non-binary definition on AVENwiki. At least, that is my take on it. I would then consider myself in that category, just not fulfilling the cult's other requirements. Take that as you will. However, I shall be moving this to Gender, as it is a gender term related question and I need to keep things organized. Just as a passing note, Chatterbox in JFF is still available. Should you make the rounds and don't mind doing so, please spread the word...with pink kitties and exploding rainbow goodness. Kelly
One can understand what a transyada is once one unravels this knot: and walks to the end of this staircase:

Adriatic
How else do you think you get anywhere in the House of Yada?
Teagan KGB
Exactly. Fractal shapes bring fractal thought. And fractal thought is yada thought. Because the universe is fractal, and yadas are universal. :D
krossero
Yeah, it's a good thing that we all have time turners in the Yada House, because otherwise we'd be late to everything, and that's terrible etiquette.
asexual cake
Yeah, P would have our hides.
krossero
I'm a bit paranoid about being late, to the point where if I can be, I will be incredibly early to almost anything. Which often leaves me lurking outside of whatever room or building I'm supposed to be in. Which is rather fitting, considering.
Adriatic
I'm a bit paranoid about being late, to the point where if I can be, I will be incredibly early to almost anything. Which often leaves me lurking outside of whatever room or building I'm supposed to be in. Which is rather fitting, considering. The longer I have to travel to get to wherever it is, the earlier I am. When I'm coming up from here to meet friends in London I'm nearly always the first person there (sometimes by as much as an hour). And then I can be quarter of an hour late for a work thing happening in the same building as me.
