I'm afraid you'd need to suggest something to be unpinned first. And besides, Transyadas aren't pinned either. ;)

Considering how small we are as a Minority on AVEN, maybe we should get a pinned thread... not that there isn't enough pinned threads on the gender forum.

Let the other girls know that there are in fact MtF's here considering the overwhelming majority of Trans-yadas, and Trans-Males.

I think there are already a few too many pinned-up topics - I have to scroll quite a long way down the screen on this "historic" work computer to get to the new stuff!

Having said that, I think this is probably a better candidate for pinning than the transyada thread, which floats to the top on a regular basis of its own accord. It's easy to miss this one as it keeps sinking to page two, with the number of pinned topics above it.

Even I often forget it's here and forget to post things in it. There's very much a domination of trans-males on here (even a lot of the trans-yadas lean that way) and I think it'd be quite good to stick this topic to the top so people can see that yes, there are actually some trans-girls here!

And no offense Nalle, but I don't see why your thread "Who is hiding behind the curtains?" should be pinned. And I agree with dealradh, I see the transyadas thread all the time. Though I have to say that I don't see the transguys thread much, but then most of the transguys are on transyadas thread.

Another thing to note, the Transyada's are dominated by FtY. There are not as many MtYs.

Also Natalie, I don't think the Transyada thing needs to be pinned, as transyada discussions dominate the board anyways.

I love my body, I love my hair, I love everything about it

Talking about sex and knowing a lot about porn doesn't invalidate my asexuality

I suppose being beautiful and loving and good at multitasking and being creative makes me more 'girly' than anything else

Now that my male spirit is back I suppose I can't post here

but I still think that having a dick doesn't make you a boy

or vice versa

personality is a pattern

gender is just what color the string is

I don't think sex has anything to do with who you are, besides the hormones affecting your moods

Well, I'd say you're welcome here, Valentine. ^_^ Perhaps you're genderfluid? Whatever you identify, it is good to just accept yourself for who you are. And of course, be true to yourself. :cake:

  • 2 weeks later...

So the transyadas have gotten to 200 pages. We haven't even hit 5 yet. Hmm, we should make plans for world domination and just be down right silly here. That's what the yadas have been doing, and it seems to work. Why would we even need 200 pages? I honestly have no idea, but maybe just for the hell of it.

that's the only reason we do it, Perfected Silence, and we have no plans of stopping at 200 pages. onwards and upwards.

Ah, yes, the beauty of "just for the hell of it". Honestly, that's not only the reason we keep the Yada thread going so strongly; it's also the reason we do pretty much everything. That and "because we can".

Well lets get to planning then! Any clever ideas for world domination?

Haha, I figured as much, P. And of course, the quest must go on!

World domination plans... I'm sure if we started with China, or America, or Russia, or some other major world power... Haha, my friends and I have discussed forming a Leverage team. We should organize similarly  .

I suppose we could always start by taking over Australia and slowly advancing out...

A strategy which has never failed me in Risk.

Alright, so, I need to go clothes shopping soonish because I have realized that I actually own very few clothes. There are maybe three things I will wear all winter. Part of this is related to the fact that I wore school uniforms before university and never had a social life during my undergrad or even the first few years of grad school, so I never really needed anything to go out in or to wear when doing more "professional" things, ie. the most casual clothes I can get away with for departmental events and teaching. Anyway, I find it harder and harder to bring myself to wear what I do own and need to add to it, but am kind of at a loss as to how to feminize my wardrobe I guess to the point of being somewhat androgynous (if I had a female body I wouldn't be the most feminine person in the world aside from wearing jewelery and subtle makeup). Basically I want to feel more like how I identify without explicitly cross-dressing. I suppose that in a female body I would present as kind of androgynous in attire but with clearly feminine mannerisms. Plus I want to try being in a relationship for the first time (I have no idea how that's going to work), and am a lesbian so...ya. Anyway, I've been putting this off for months because I just cannot walk into a store without my dysphoria going off and I am at a loss as to what to even consider as options to make me feel at peace with what I am wearing. I suppose that I am 6' with a medium build and am kind of fat (though apparently I'm the only one who thinks that as others think I'm not and should stop losing weight and focus on toning a bit) doesn't help either.

Sorry, long rant. Mostly I needed to get that off my chest. I'll likely just keep wearing the same clothes I hate for the moment since I cannot get past the image disconnect I have to understand options that might work for me aesthetically.

I need to go shopping too. I want to go for a more androgynous look as well, which I slowly have been doing, but I don't have any clothes to really go with it. I'm probably more on the tomboyish side too.

Maybe starting with all the smaller countries and working up is a good idea.

I made friends with the cutest girl in the world today. Unfortunately I think she might have a crush on me. It really makes me hate being trans in all honesty... (And the only thing that makes me hate being trans) I don't want to come out as trans, and ace...

Be glad she doesn't have a crush on you and is a bitch. The only girl that ever asked me out, which was four years ago, still thinks I'm cute (*shudder*) and I happen to have two classes in college with her now, after three years of not talking to each other. A friend and I have come to learn that she's a freaking lunatic though.

Am I the only asexual who gets asked out semi-frequently?

Also, I got the awesomest glasses now. I'm putting a picture in the AVENITE PHOTOS 2010 thread.

But seriously.. I've dated tons of people. It's pretty easy to get a date. You don't ever see then Average Girls ogling you, or cuddle with your pretty friends..?

(I hate boyfriends, though. They take my friends away..)

You may well be, Valentine. I certainly don't get asked out much. Actually, only that one time I mentioned. I'm also aromantic so I have absolutely no desire in relationships of that nature. And being male-bodied gives you the particular role of asking a girl out, not the other way around. Maybe you just have a lot of really confident girls in your life? I also probably don't respond to flirting or such things, until they start touching me, which just freaks the hell out of me. Hugging is one thing (and only if I allow/expect it), but a girl once grabbed on to my shoulder as she was passing by (and she sat right next to me by assigned seats) and just spooked me. I was nervous for the rest of that day.

That is a good idea, at least that is what others have done. As odd as it may sound, it is called "gender leakage", meaning that one's true gender slowly starts becoming evident. An MtF, say, may start growing her hair out, get earrings, then start wearing more androgynous or feminine clothes, start wearing nail polish, work on her voice, all while being employed or at school as a male. Perhaps an andogynous nickname can be used.

By the time that they announce that they will transition, it is not much of a surprise, and it is not so difficult at that time.

@ Valenitne

I date waaay more then I should. I don't get asked out very often (Living in a place where guys usually ask out girls) But I get a LOT of girls crushing on my, and *Not exactly subtly* hinting that I should ask them out.

Yes, that term sounds right. I told one of my friends that we should go get our nails done sometime. She likes it when I'm girly. I wanted to get them done last week as purple for Asexual Awareness week. I still want purple nails. I also quit wearing my watch several months ago (it was irritating my skin anyways) and have begun to wear more bracelets. I also wear a seashell cresent moon necklace, the moon being a traditional symbol of femininity. That anyone sees that, I highly doubt it.

There are also these pants at Hot Topic, they're purple and awesome looking, I want them.

On a further note regarding the Yadas. I have become the TransGirls ambassador to them. As such, our foreign affairs have seen a boost as more Yadas have come here to visit. The Yadas thread is also a hospitable location, so I do suggest visiting there occasionally.

Watches drive me crazy, or at least mens watches do, I've never worn a womans watch. Part of the reason for that, aside from the fact I don't like the aesthetic, is that most watches don't fit properly on my wrist, they are usually too big or awkward. I have smallish bony wrists and usually the watch is either too tight so it doesn't move, or too loose and the dial just shifts back and forth hitting the wrist bones which gets annoying very quickly.

One of my little obsessions is rings (including earrings), and I am on the look out for ones that I can wear that aren't so small that they look silly on my hands, but not too big so that I just look like a guy wearing a lot of mens rings.

Haha, yes, I'm very skinny (I've always been underweight) so I have that problem with watches too. But I also have sensitive skin, high pain tolerance, but sensitive skin.

I don't think I'm much of a ringsy person. I do remember when my mum was showing me the class rings for my high school class last year, I hated all of the ones she showed me because they looked to manly. Not that I much like rings, but if I were to get one, I wanted one of the women's rings. They would likely go with my hand better in a pure aesthetic view than those bulky men's rings. I have such small hands that I actually wear women's size small gloves perfectly. It makes looking for good-fitting work gloves a bitch though (I guess petite women are not meant to be doing yardwork or the like. Sexist industry, wot?).

My hands aren't nearly that small unfortunately :(

I have a manly ring from the university were I did my undergraduate work. For a time I used to wear it all the time because it was a socially acceptable ring I could wear all the time. Eventually the classism of it combined with the fact that it's a bulky mens ring lead me to stop wearing it. In hindsight the womens version would have been so much better though I probably wouldn't wear it either for the first reason.
