Guest
Link The article says "transgender men" but aren't these transgender women? Should transwomen follow the same indecent exposure laws that bio-women do? Should a law be made to address this? Is it even fair for men and women to have separate laws? On the other hand, is it illegal for a transman who has had a masectomy to go topless?
CowsRSkary
If you have boobs, they should be covered. End. Of. Story. Seriously, if these men want to be treated like women, which most trans-women do, then they need to act like women, and that means wearing a top. I am a bit of a prude, so I think that even fatter guys with "man-boobs" should be covered, so I might be a bit biased.
50 Cent Piece
I think everyone should be allowed to go topless :I Women's chests are no more evil/indecent/sexy than men's.
asexual cake
Yeah, the article should have called them transwomen, and I don't think a post-(top)-op transman would be required to wear a top in public, but I think the enforcement of that would depend largely on how "masculine" the transman appeared to others - if he could pass well as a man, I don't think people would call him out, but if he looked more like a biological female, there might be issues. That said, I disagree that all boobs should be covered all the time. There isn't anything about breasts that makes them intrinsically vulgar or pornographic or whatever else, and forcing people to cover them all the time just because they exist is just perpetuating the construction of breasts as such. ETA: TheRam said it better.
Kasbunny
Agreeing with TheRam and Pugnacioun. I feel that we either go one way or the other -- men and women alike need to keep their chests covered in public, or neither do. What about women who are naturally flat-chested and have no more breasts than men? Should they have to keep themselves covered? Or as CowsRSkary mentioned, what about larger men who have "moobs", should they be allowed to flaunt these in public? Not that I much want to see people's uncovered chests, whether male or female, but I sure wish I could topless!

Sammie
These transwomen should defenitely have kept their tops on. You wanna live your life as a woman? then follow the rules that go with it. In my perfect world, men and women would both have the right to be topless at places like the beach. Since it's currently legal for men, reason dictates that it's legal for post-op transmen. oneofthesun
It's actually not illegal for women to go topless where I live.
Guest
It's actually not illegal for women to go topless where I live. You liberal Canadians! :D I'm just as disgusted by man boobs as I am by real boobs, so I can't decide if I'm in the "everyone cover up" or "no one cover up" group. But I think it should be equal for everyone. :
