Someone in the forum mentioned that you could not specify that you were asexual on the (extended) US Census when it asked about your orientation. So, I thought I'd make a quick three-question mock-census, but without the stuff on housing and with more options for gender! Hurrah!

Asexuals only, please! I'm wondering how diverse and/or how similar we are, at least when it comes to those aces that visit the site. Lots of platonic love for the sexuals too though. :)

Two things of note!

A) If you feel like a pretty even 50-50 in terms of gender, please pick which one you have a stronger affiliation for, or pick 'no gender.' This does not indicate that you are neither male nor female in gender, but rather that you do not have strong ties/associations with either.

:excl: Please do not pick 'no gender' if you, for example, were born a girl and live like a girl, but do not wear make up and therefore are not "girly." Similarly, if you do not play sports, video games, or try to hit on women who wear more make up than clothes, then this is simply indicative of the fact that you do not fit into the weird stereotypes, and it does not mean that you are not a male! I want to know what you identify as, not what stereotypes you may or may not fit into.

B) The list of races was taken straight from the Census, but I changed African-American to African origins, since we aren't all from the States. :o Decided to keep American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian, although those are pretty US-specific.

 Thanks a lot, guys! :cake: :cake: :cake: The demographic nerd in me is excited to see who we represent, haha.

Female* born female, white, 18-25.

*Maybe I should have marked "no gender."

I'm quite new with the knowledge, that if you don't identify yourself as female, you can call yourself neutrois (I honestly didn't have any clue about it until a few days ago, I just never felt like fitting in as a girl, and neither as the boy that I sometimes tried to pretend to be). I took a "quiz" (not like a facebook-one, but something more professional) about my gender, and that also said that I'm totally neutrois  So I dared to choose "no gender". Plus, I'm 23 years old and mixed (I chose the option that I feel is closest to me, even if it's not 100% correct).

No gender, born female

For race I put other since I'm mixed and there is often never an option for mixed race.

Some choices I didn't see were Male-To-Female Transgender (aka Transwoman), Female-To-Male Transgender (aka Transman) As for myself, I identify myself as part of the Transgender spectrum. As I was born male but, express myself in the feminine in gender and female in dressing, thus, I identify as a Transwoman.

That's female born male then.

Thank you for the clarification. But, as I did not go through SRS (sexual reconstructive surgery) and as I differentiate male/female as sex and masculine/feminine as gender. this is still unclear how to designate myself without using the transgender terminology.

I voted male born male even though I know that as a transman you didn't mean for me to vote that way. It's just... I wasn't any more female when I was born than I am now. I didn't ever have a female gender. So why would I say I was ever female? I haven't ever even lived as female.

It's been suggested and there's evidence that I have a virilizing disorder, but I'm not comfortable claiming the label intersex.

Male born male

White

18-25

Needless to say, these statistics say much more about the demographics of internet forum users than asexual demographics.
