We just finally got the offer in.  This condo has been sitting on the market for 79 days, with the sellers lowering the price every couple of weeks, and now, today, before my offer got in, they finally got their first offer.  So my offer will be competing with someone else's.  Happened both times I put in an offer in Salt Lake (the condo sat on the market until I made an offer), and I lost out both times.

Same for several members of my family who weren't as diligent as I was about sun avoidance. Because they actually liked being in the sun.  

(I mean, it's not like I thought about skin cancer back in the day; it's just that I've always been hyper-sensitive to being in the sun for much more than half an hour, even when I was a baby)

The last couple of days I have been working on assembling some flat pack furniture (not from the Swedes), hoping to get something set up for some more organization and clearing things off of tables. That's one of my main issues - I clutter up table tops and desk tops with all sorts of projects, which I plan to work on "at some point".

Shingles vaccine accomplished. 

I hope to feel well enough to do some outside work during the days that I have announced that I may be out of commission. My friend is set up for a few days of no help and no one expects me to do anything. I'd love to have a few days of weeding and reading. Maybe even indulge in some music. I like to play classical music on the chromatic harmonica or mess around with my very poor piano playing. I really hope that I won't be sick in bed the whole time.

 

@pickles mcgee I hope you are happy with wherever you end up. It sounds like a hard choice. What part of Portland is the condo in?

Me too, I was really disappointed.  But...my offer here got accepted about an hour ago.  I had to offer a bit over asking price.

Got pretty warm here today. My house got into the upper 70s, just shy of the AC kicking on. Looks like we might get some cooler days after tomorrow and possibly a little rain. But then some heat again on the weekend. Someone stop it. Summer is over! I do not want any heat in October!

I was just melting.  Brought a fan to school, and there were several more in the classroom.  Had them all blowing, and the shades down, but still I needed another shower by 11:00 am.  And it just got worse from there. 😂

Cold and rainy here.  I am desperately trying to get a wasps' nest treated before work is being done on the garden, but every day it rains.  The powder used would wash away and be ineffective in rain.   The guys can work in the rest of the garden but won't be able to cut the shrubs back at the far end of the garden unless the nest can be treated.  Otherwise, I would leave the nest alone as the wasps will die out naturally as we move into October.

 

I have my covid seasonal booster booked for this morning.

damn things.  This afternoon, I was stung by a yellow jacket whilst taking an outdoor shower.  I was stung on the side of my big toe after accidentally stepping on him in the grass, then he recovered and flew away.   The pain lasted about a half hour and I haven't looked at it since.  I was just thinking yesterday that I was lucky to avoid a bee sting this summer.

Just saw the moose that has been hanging around our village. I had heard some thumping/heavy footfalls after going to bed. Looked out the living room window and it was on the north side of our yard beside the driveway.

 

Went across the street and wandered around the drug parking lot before coming back across the street towards our vacant lot or the neighboring library property.

I had a friend who got a house in Ladd's Addition in the early  70's as part of an urban renewal project. That's a neat area. At least it was when I hung out on Hawthorne. Glad you found a place there. I lived on Belmont and about 30th for a while and would walk to her place.

I'd link an article about a car accident that a woman survived about three hours from me (I'm very familiar with the highway) but it's pretty gruesome. Lets say the moose and Chevy Lumina didn't fare well.
