@Noora, welcome and more :cake: !

There was an anomaly in my backyard pond earlier. It was a pair o' ducks.

I'm as old as my tongue and a little older than my teeth.

That puts me in my late 50s.

But as a self-aware asexual I'm the merest baby.

You'll fit into this thread nicely :D

Now sink those not-quite-50-old teeth into MOAR cake...

That's probably wise. No point in fowling the water.

There was an avian creature (heron after referred to the birdie of the first part) standing by the creek, but I missed it. They said it couldn't wade.

I put my house on the market a couple weeks ago, and I accepted an offer last Monday

I hope to put my house up for sale next year

I will be putting my place up for sale in the next few weeks. As many others here know, I'm doing it because I've had four months work in the last eighteen months, and can no longer pay my mortgage. So I have to sell up and move out of Sydney. After I pay the mortgage off, I won't be able to buy in Sydney, nor can I afford to rent - nor would I get a rental with no job and a cat! So I'm off to the further reaches of the Blue Mountains (hopefully) or further into the country. I'm hoping to buy somewhere not so far from the city that I can do a day trip and still keep in touch with my Sydney friends and groups, and get to the occasional art exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art or the Art Gallery of NSW.

I've had three appraisals - one really low, the other two quite close in price and enough to get me to the Blue Mountains. It is going to be quite a tough few months - clearing the house of things I don't want to take, selling, buying, not freaking the cat out. Coming on the end of eighteen tough months which included the death of two close friends and constant rejection from the job market (over 110 job applications now), I have to admit there are times I think I just can't take it. But I can and I will. Although a nap or two would be good.

I'm grebe-ing the loss of my old life somewhat but I'll stop raven now. Life can be a bustard.

That’s the spirit. 👍 Enjoy the napping. 😴 Blue Mountains sounds very romantic. 🍀

That's the spirit! Good luck (with the house stuff, not the naps)!

Once I get resettled (next year) I won't budgie for a while. :P

Spoiler

I80_Evanston_East.jpg

Here is a view of the town I live in (Evanston), as taken from a traffic camera on Interstate 80 this evening.  See the houses on the hill in the upper right hand corner of the photo?  That is the street on which I live, although my home cannot be seen from here.

I captured this photo from a traffic camera near my home tonight.  No green grass here, yet!

I can see all the good bird puns are gone, but won't get in a tit about it. Not that kind of gull.

A cross-country trip this weekend saw me get delayed by snow both ends of the trip, making an overnight trip into 4 days. For a country that rarely gets snow, this year is a doozy.

That's tough @Kazbe - hope things work out well for you over time.

Forecasters are threatening a white Easter here.  I just want this protracted winter to go.  I have lots of plans for the garden that are on hold and am hoping I haven't bittern off more than I can chew.  (Will the bird jokes ever run out? :P)
