Janx
BMI OF 15.8!!!! And I eat more than most people. All hail my crazily high metabolic rate. Whee... am I the most underweight here?
birdnerd
5'1", 110 lbs. My BMI is 20.6, and the test says I'm in the healthy range for my height.
maco
I've got a BMI of about 20, so I'm barely into normal (granted, I used to be very far underweight, but oh well). I just checked and my BMI is 21.8, with 18.5-24.9 being "normal." I'm 5'6" and 135 lb. What the hell's a "stone"?
Penumbra
Maco - a stone is a unit of weight equivalent to 14 pounds, or 6.35 kg.
Tanwen
Most definately overweight - since I gave up smoking followed by a hysterectomy, bad back (collapsed discs) knee problems and now a bad hip (caused by jogging when I was younger/fitter). However, I've discovered although walking can be difficult at times, I can cycle (although getting off can be a bit difficult) and if I remember to take my cod liver oil capsules the pain in my hip is reduced considerably. silvergirl
On a sexuality group I read occasionally two of the most sexually active members are fat women, both of whom have fat partners.

Xenon
Critical comment about the poll: it makes no distinction between those who are, say, 10 pounds overweight and those who are 100 pounds over. And if 10 pounds overweight is close enough to "normal", then where is the dividing line? That being said... there was a time where I weighted 100 pounds more than I do now. I'm still over my ideal weight, but nowhere near as much.
Xenoglyph
Last I checked I was 240 lbs. I'm 6' 4½" though so it's not as heavy as you may think, I think the average "normal" for my height is just about 200 lbs. I personally believe that is pretty skinny for someone of my height though, so I'll just say 210 lbs. is "normal" recently I have lost about 20 lbs. (from lack of eating and a regular DDR excercise) I'm not really sure how much weight I've lost, I havn't checked in a scale, but I look a lot better than I used to. I still have small man-boobs though, 8)
geeb
My BMI was 16.3 (I think) the last time I had it measured in high school. It's probably lower now but I am in NO way underweight. I think I have more muscle than most girls. I also have more fat, and I weigh more - at least 135 and more likely 140. I am 5'8" and part of an inch. I have a bigger body in general than some people.. not 'skinny' but I don't have any of that jiggly fat/skin that lots of small, thin girls have. (and really glad of it..!) weird though - I had a lanky, bony (rather pointy almost) body as a kid, and now it looks like the same body but with both muscle and fat added on. still have the pointy elbows that could cause considerable pain if jammed in someone's gut. Ifer
The thing is that the current media stereotypes are promoting one body type, and saying that it's the healthy norm; when in actuality human bodies are made to be incredibly diverse. Biologically, this is intended to encourage us to live in social groups and have certain people preform certain tasks for which their body type is suited. The media's taken the sprinter body type, removed half the muscle and most of the fat, added breasts, and said "THIS is what you should be!" So maybe you should clarify whether this poll is meant to be directed towards the image promoted by the media; or towards what is healthy for your body type. YP
I've posted before, but I've changed my mind  I'm *almost* a normal weight now. Some numbers, my BMI used to be *cough, look away now* 38.1 *it's safe to come back now*. Now, it's 25.5 which is still just about over the top end of the normal range at 24.9, but it's close enough for me and I reckon the extra 6lb or so should be gone early in the new year. The whole process of losing weight scared me a lot, I was worried that I'd suddenly have to fight off unwanted male attention, and that I wouldn't know how to do it. I also worried about the prospect that I might suddenly get interested in sex. Not that that would necessarily be a bad thing, just that I wouldn't know how to handle it and I could imagine that I'd be a lot more vulnerable to being hurt which I didn't fancy. But nothing's changed. I guess I've proved to myself that my asexuality had nothing to do with my weight, and that I can cope now I'm smaller without being preyed on by desperate men. blurriedies
I'm underweight. 5feet, 82pounds (BMI of 15.89) Its interesting to hear about something about overweight people being less sexual; I've always heard/been told that being underweight kills your sex drive. Then again, that may be my mom and grandmother telling me lies to make me want to gain weight.
vits3k
I'm still about 20kg over my ideal weight (105 vs 85). I currently have a membership at this place. Do you think I should start going somewhere else?
anima
the BMI hasn't been accurate for me for sometime as I carry a lot more muscle than most women do In general, I have more muscle than other females my height... not at the moment, certainly, because it varies depending on my physical activity. I'm about 5' 3.5" tall, and I -think- my weight right now is about 106 lb. In August 2004, by the time tour was over, I weighed 120 lb, and then proceeded to lose all the weight I had gained over the summer in muscle when I went to school. And then this past summer, I was marching again and I gained some weight though not as much as I did in 2004; that put my weight around 112-115 lb. I've been told by several girls that they wish they had my "figure"... I hate when people tell me that, because I have never been treated in any way or told in any way that being thin is beautiful, except by the magazines. And what I find funny (weird funny, not ha-ha funny) about it is that people are just as cruel to the underweight as they are to the overweight... even though those same people are striving for that toothpick look. Penumbra
Vits, I've seen that photo before! Love it. ... people are just as cruel to the underweight as they are to the overweight... even though those same people are striving for that toothpick look. True. The Dove "Real Beauty" advertising campaign really gets on my nerves for part of that reason. All it does is redefine beauty as another specific body type. ghosts
I'm underweight. I'm 5'4" & generally waiver on the 100 pound mark. BMI is 17.03.

True. The Dove "Real Beauty" advertising campaign really gets on my nerves for part of that reason. All it does is redefine beauty as another specific body type. Yeah. I really don't like the "real beauty" advertising campaign either. But, you know, I'm okay if people want to redefine beauty as a healthier body type than toothpick. That's just fine with me, because it means that fewer people will go to horrible weight-loss schemes so they might be considered "beautiful". And I could go into what males are really looking at in potential partners, but I don't feel like it. It's finals week.
Islander9
I stand 5'6" and I weigh 14 and a half stone...my weight goes up half a stone over winter, and reduces up to a stone& a half over 'baiting...I have very heavy bones!!! Now seriously, people are not built the same. In ANZ, it has been established that Polynesian people/people of Polynesian ancestry weigh up to *20%* more than people who dont have Polynesian tipuna - because our bones are denser! Sounds silly? It's now factored into ANZ health programmes (it is the very very rare person of Polynesian descent who suffers from osteopororsis (and that person has generally been taking steroids...) O, for people who dont know what a 'stone' is = 14lb
Ziffler
I got 10 pounds I want to get off, but according to my fitness center guru, I am normal in all catagories for my state of fitness including BMI. I do workout 3 times a week but thats more to keep my heart functioning properly than controling weight.
Retasha
I'm 5'8", 132 lbs. Which is pretty much the ideal weight I can be at. But people always accuse me of being too thin anyways, because a lot of my weight is in my bones. When I had my bone mass tested, it was 118% compared to my sister's more average 97%. BlancheDubois
Well, I'm 5'6" and 115lbs, so I'm certainly not overweight. Well, I'm 5'6" too, but 225 lbs. But I'm not overweight either. Just short for my weight. The doctor has me on tallness supplements, and my target hieght is 8'10.5" boa  PMSL!!! I shall have to use that one. The thing is with me, and I am very overweight, that I can talk the talk about sex and walk the walk but be completely indifferent to it. I prefer friends who are close, loyal and true to monogamous relationships that exclude the rest.

spinneret
I really couldn't say what my body fat percentage or BMI is. I was very slightly overweight when I came to college; a few years later I'm 10-20 lbs less but far more muscular. I've shrunk considerably. At this point I see myself as underweight--I'm not naturally slender, so losing fat has given me a serious hourglass figure. Fun for costuming, but looks funny in the mirror. Like the girls on TV I want to give sandwiches to, not like "me." I tell everyone to give me cookies.
Fayetje
I'm four pounds over the normal range for females my height. :/ I don't fret over it too much though. I live pretty heathily..it's just that fat's really stubborn. xD
JokeyFairbobbin
I'm overweight enough that I feel uncomfortable in a two-piece swimsuit, though mostly I'm just out of shape.
