Here's a youtube video with an update from the DSM Taskforce:

If you know of therapists or people researching sexuality please let us know! We're trying to talk to people with academic credentials as part of the project.

Yay! Glad to hear it's going well.

So do you want ANY ase-friendly therapists, or just ones involved with studying sexuality?

Ones involved in studying sexuality. One of the main goals of the DSM is to provide a useful guide for therapists, and in this case it will be specifically therapists involved in sexuality-related issues.

Agreed! Also nice to see that people who are extremely eloquent on the board can be so in person as well. Nice work.

Thanks for the update, David and Andrew!

In addition to being informative, you two are very well-spoken.

There is now a draft of the DSM-5 available online for comment. This is the link to hypoactive sexual desire disorder

http://www.dsm5.org/ProposedRevisions/Pages/proposedrevision.aspx?rid=60#

It says it has been proposed that this should be incorporated into sexual interest/arousal disorder in women/men

They're only permitting comments until sometime in April, so if anyone wants to comment, they should do so quickly. Also, the paper explaining the changes (for the female version) are available here. The paper regarding the male version of the diagnosis is not available online (and, as of mid-February, had not yet been written.) I would strongly recommend reading the paper before commenting.
