Incredibly Ace Moments

I don't really get my hair cut often, but when I do, I get it cut real short (about an inch long).  When my hair gets past a certain length, it starts to curl and eventually gets really curly.  My sister's hair is just as bad, but she used to dislike haircuts aside from trims, so her hair went down past her shoulder blades (when straightened it'd reach her waist, but she rarely straightened it) for the longest time.  About a year or so ago, though, she got her hair cut down to neck-length so it's easier for her to manage.

I prefer my hair to be short, but I also don't exactly enjoy hair cuts (not to say that I hate it, just that I'd rather not deal with it), so it's kind of a lose-lose for me.

My hair curls, too. I get the annoying "wings". But I also don't enjoy going in to get it cut. The easiest time I had with my hair was when I was younger and kept it long enough for a ponytail. Just tie it back and it was good. Once it got a bit long it was easy enough for me to chop it back down myself. But then I started going bald on the crown, so I've been trying to keep it short. So back to going to the barber every once in a while. Last time I got it cut shorter than I liked so I've been letting it grow. Now it's still short, but long enough for curls. I'm trying to decide how much longer to let it grow.

Yeah, I get those 'wings' too.  I just generally don't want my hair to get beyond a certain length because of how curly it gets (it also has quite a bit of fluff to it due to the curls).  My hair is still on the short side atm, though it generally takes a couple months or so for it to get long enough to start curling (doesn't grow all that fast) so I don't have to worry about it for a while longer.

It doesn't take long for mine to reach that point of annoying curls.

My hair is only good on one side.  My mom calls it "behaving", as I don't know how else to describe it.  It was more apparent when I had longer hair, but I still see it sometimes.  The unruly side, when long, would turn into a fin, maybe that's what people mean by the wing.

My ace moment tonight is seeing someone share a video to my group titled "50 DnD pickup lines" or something similar.  I just wrote "ha, I don't need those".

So I was on holiday last weekend, and saw this car parked by the lakeside with darkened back windows with a "Fake Taxi" sticker on it. And I was like "Wait, what?" I knew it was a thing in porn, but I honestly had no idea people did or wanted to do this thing irl. The whole idea seemed so surreal for me, a little moment of "yeah, forgot that people like to do those things and it's not just in the movies".

After getting my hair cut short 4 years ago I just slowly taught myself to cut it back on my own (with some minor fails of course) since hair-dressers and me seem to not understand each other🙄 and it saves money due to needing to be cut more often (once a month - lower back of my head, once every 2 month - everything)

And I prefer short hair too, it's so much easier to wash, dry and take care of!

Has anyone ever tried sexting you before and you replied with the most ace thing ever?

We used to message with one of my male friends on fb. He would often interpret my comment on a sexual way, and it took way too long for me to even realize that (even though, looking back, he was clearly sexting but I was clueless), so he thought I was "playing along" with "an innocent girl" role. I'd say I think he misinterpreted me but he never took it seriously, so I had no choice but cut all contact with him. Maybe we were close to start dating or something in his head <_<  thank god we lived on the opposite sides of the country.

Yeah, some people will persist in their own line of thought and misinterpret any/all responses to align with their illusions. <shakes head>

I go once a month to get mine cut. Nothing special, just a haircut.

I was walking into a bookstore with two friends of mind who loved making sex jokes. On display was this new romance book and the cover was a ripped guy with a buttoned shirt open standing under a waterfall (suuuuper cliche). One of my friends said "Now I'd like to do alot more with him than just stand in the waterfall" and me being me questioned what she meant. Bluntly she said sex. I looked at the cover and was like "Meh, he's not that good-looking" and she said "yeah but he's in water". AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW WATER MAKES SOMEONE MORE ATTRACTIVE??? Anywho, my friend tried to explain what makes them more attractive underwater but I still have no idea what the big hype is about...😂

I got told by a coworker to leave some...uhhh...***** for the rest of them when I came in with my haircut (I guess it’s stylish? I don’t really try much when it comes to my hair. 🤷🏻‍♂️). Completely deadpan, I just said, “Trust me, I’m the last person who’s gonna be hoarding that.”

Wait.... a haircut? How the heck can/why is someone sexualizing a HAIRCUT? I don't get it. (Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong, and I do apologize if so)

One time I mentioned around here that some girl was on a dating app and the person she matched with listed my number as theirs.  Apparently she was thinking that she was too eager to text the guy, as that was the first message.  I had to first say that I didn't know where she got my number, but I'm not who she's looking for.  She asked for my name, and it was clearly masculine, since that's what I chose.  She said that she was on her sister's phone because she was visiting for a weekend (why doesn't she have her own phone?).  So I spent 20 minutes having a text chat with this random stranger who was looking for a quick hookup over the weekend.  She actually sent me some seductive pics, like topless but covering boobs, and a tank with boobs squished together.  Then afterwards she had to make sure that I didn't already have a girlfriend.  (Compulsive heterosexuality go..)  I was unfazed and said that I wasn't attracted to this sort of thing.  Eventually, her sister asked for her phone back to go out so she sent a webcam link instead, which I never clicked on and didn't reply to the messages anymore.  I think most people here would be wondering why I had the conversation in the first place.

@nerdperson777 hookups are yet another thing I've never been able to understand. I really don't understand how it's worth all the risks (STD, possibly violent or disgusting partners, risk of getting mixed with cheating drama etc).

My friend did a better job. It's because the water sticks their clothes to them so you can see the shape of their body. It's like nudity without nudity.

Can't relate though. My feelings when seeing a wet person is "OMG you mist be so cold, come in to the dry!"

Yeah, if someone does end up with an STD, how are they going to know where they got it from?  Sounds a little like the plot for Mamma Mia (which I actually really like), the mom doesn't know who's the father to her daughter because she slept with three different men in a small timeframe.  It's not as bad as an STD, but sometimes knowing important stuff like that is useful, and in the case of STDs, can be life-threatening.

Is it a role playing thing? Like the one with the 'sexy delivery man'? 🤔

Oh that'd make some sense... I thought maybe it's because of that thing where people find water pouring down someones body (esp. chest) sexy, at least I know that there are adds like that. I don't get it but well... not surprised.

And tbh wet clothes sticking to someones body in connection to sex just makes me think 'wouldn't it be more difficult to take them off?' Like... in my experience wet clothes are pretty uncomfortable to wear and get out off😬

And I totally second the 'you must be cold, let's get you dry' reaction😄

Cars that have been rained on/washed look shinier and sparkle, I can see the attractiveness quotient go up in that scenario. Sodden people just look sweaty or unfortunate.

Yea! I suspect most people just aren't that logical/practical with their thinking and focus on the visial stimulus instead 😁

Yea, but I bet looking sweaty or "poor" is exactly the point to some allo people 🤔

Not really an ace moment but I have 'take' on the hookup and STD theme.

Around the time I identified as asexual, a male friend was constantly telling me that I should sign up on the Plenty Of Fish dating site (not interested). At the same time I had to listen to him tell me about a different female every couple of months.

It was quite annoying as I had no interest in anyone's sex life! I never said anything to him as I wasn't comfortable is coming out as asexual at the time. I did though mention my dismay to a female friend during a dinner. I asked her if she knew of anyone, male or female that carried on like this. She said, "No, but if he's not careful he's likely to catch something".

Earlier this week when I was asking him about sex and dating (he was the first person I came out to in 2017), I asked him about his 'cruising' days (as his mother called). Was his motivation to be on Plenty Of Fish,

Spoiler

getting laid

or meeting a girlfriend. The latter he answered.

I told him that at the time I had just identified as asexual. Sex and dating, especially in light of his 'activities' at the time puzzled me. I told him I didnt want to complain about it because I wasn't ready to come out to him.

i've never understood when people say someone has a 'great arse'. i mean it's good to have some natural cushioning for sitting down.. but especially when i was younger i just thought ...but that's where your poo comes out of.
