nerdperson777
I can bring it back on topic. Yesterday I had to help with a birthday party for the first time. There were two others with me, one veteran and someone who's about to go to college. The college guy was responsible for cutting the cake and handing it to the kids. I was watching him cut it with a small horizontal and vertical cut each time. It looked really ugly and he probably didn't cut it through all the layers because they were falling apart in half. I wanted to cut it instead, one cut all the way down and then small second cut. Then I thought, "did I just think that I can cut a cake better than someone? how ace of me."

At my dojo, we have this samurai/ninja sword that we get out during birthday parties. We let the birthday kid cut the cake (with the help of one of the others Senseis, it is sharp) with the sword, but after that we use a knife and the cake always falls apart... I feel like no one can cut cake well these days.

I feel like no one can cut cake well these days. I kinda doubt the safety of letting a kid usie a sword like that at all. We just let them play with padded weapons and hit legs only. My university coach was a Tai Chi specialist and he had this idea for a restaurant that was based on internal martial arts like Tai Chi. There would be waiters stepping in the style of Tai Chi or Bagua. The important part of Tai Chi walking is just that it's slow and linear and Bagua is circle walking. Then they run into trouble if a Tai Chi waiter has to get around a round table or a Bagua waiter with a square table. There's then a sign that says "please wait an extra 10 minutes for your food to arrive". The chefs would work the stove with Xingyi (a more square and linear internal style). I had this idea that we could use broadswords as knives, melon hammers to tenderize, straightswords to poke holes, a southern saber (equivalent of a heavy katana) to slice through layers of hanging meat, etc.

I feel really weird during that point of the month. And then I have to go down my mental checklist of what might be wrong. Then there's the realization, oh, it's that time of the month. My periods aren't that bad, so I honestly end up preferring being on my period than the chore of the other one.

A Nice Human
In 8th grade my friend was saying that she was annoyed about how many people at school were posting their “Thot Crush Thursday.” I misheard it as “Thought Crush.” I was really confused and said “Does that mean a crush that’s just in your own mind? (Wait that’s how crushes work...) Is it a crush on their mind? As in, seeing that someone is smart and really wanting to have intellectual discussions with them? Or does it mean you think about having a crush on someone so much that you actually do?” I was already confused enough about crushes since I never had one. She kept saying, “Not thought, thot!” but I didn’t get it until she spelled it and I said “Oh I think I’ve heard that word before... and now I’m done with this conversation.” A similar thing happened in 6th grade too. We had to learn all the states and my lunch table friends were looking over the US map during lunch. I memorize things by making stories with words that sound like the word I need to remember. I got to Idaho and I mentioned that it’s like saying “I da hoe.” (I said it quite loud and with emphasis...) My friends all laughed and I was confused because saying that you are a gardening tool is not that funny. They asked if I knew what the word meant and I realized it must mean something bad so I said that I meant the gardening tool not the bad word version. So in all, I am literally the embodiment of the innocent ace stereotype.
olivria1
I don't technically hide my identity, in that if someone asks me about it I'll answer honestly. I don't go out of my way to advertise it, though. A few of my friends know I'm aro-ace and they're all fine with it. If there's something they don't understand, they'll ask and be really open-minded. I'm so lucky! Anyways, last night my best friend called for romantic advice. I'm not sure how I ended up the relationship guru in my friend group, considering I've never even had a crush! I think I give good advice though, even if it is mostly inspired from fanfiction. She felt it helped her out and that's what I was going for! I'm just happy to know that my being aro-ace doesn't prevent me from helping my friends in times like these.

Laplace
I’m not a very expressive person so the gestures I see as comforting are usually not impactful enough to be comforting to others. Lol, it’s not nearly as bad but sometimes it reminds me of that scene in Spongebob where Patrick tells Spongebob the story of the Ugly Barnacle and it isn’t comforting at all. 😂 Also, Dronya’s responses to Marietta’s advances in the game Labyrinth of Refrain are feeding my ace soul. She is so actively repulsed that she throws up in one scene. 😅 I’m glad I’m not super well-known or popular cause if I had to deal with all the propositioning Dronya deals with on what seems like a near daily basis, I’d be a total b**** too.

Taylor Lilith
I saw we were talking about Algorithms and was like, "Oh no, someone started talking about Big O algorithm notation and everyone giggling like infants every time the teacher said it, didn't they?" This was not the case. Big O notation is how efficient an algorithm is. It's like the Cleavage of the Geology world. All the children feel it is necessary to giggle while we talk about the relative efficiency of heap sort. ANYWAYS that is not what I came to say. What I came to say is the following. I was taking a survey for another survey, it was either socionics or enneagram. I was reading the directions and it said something abut how you need to choose one or the other picture, not necessarily based on romantic/or sexual attraction, the surroundings and stuff are important too. I got half way through and went, ".... wait a minute." I had already forgotten to look at these people's bodies ..... withing 5 seconds.

(I suppose it's the rest of a row, like O(x), opposite to o(x)?? math in english...😁) Edit: I looked it up... (why brain, why?) Honestly I've never heard about the 'sexual meaning' before, I kind of get what they mean but... why do we need such words!? I'll never understand that! And btw I think we learned that in informatics, but maybe with a different name, don't remember.

Big O is where you only care about the largest growing function. If an algorithm is x^2+x+1 the big O would be O(x^2) whereas little o would be o(x^2+x+1). This is between Sophomore and Junior level computer science we are talking right now. Big O is slang for orgasm. So when we are talking about the Big O of heapify in a heap sort and all the children giggle about someone using slang for an orgasm to talk about the efficiency of an algorithm for some reason the entire class giggles. Ah ok, makes sense. We used it for estimating truncation errors and how accurate the methods are, not sure if that's the same as efficiency... it's only been a year and I've forgotten so much ^sigh^ (doesn't help when you can't remember names) Yeah...
