Anyhoo. I don't get 'thats what she said' jokes. I'm kinda glad- if what I think they're implying is correct. whoever created that, in that case, is a big-time pervert.

It's just a way to make an innuendo out of everything, as usual.  People say it when a girl says something that could be taken the wrong way.  Usual ones I hear is about something not being big enough or long enough, and whoever says it wants you to think she's talking about penises.

There is a family that had eleven plus adopted two. The father is self-employed and is pastor at the local 'fundamentalist church. Some of us figure he's skimming off the collection plate to afford a family that big.

I think about some conservative family with 20+ biological kids in pop culture.  They really show off the gender inequality by putting the restrictions on the daughters.  The father preaches how natural having children is.  It's kind of freaky that they have their oldest kid who's in their 20s and the youngest is a toddler.  Then I think there was a scandal where the oldest son was committing infidelity by assaulting his sisters, even though the dad preached how they wouldn't do that.

This may sound cold, but to me it's as if the woman is being treated solely as a baby making machine.

Idk, but that's my head canon, at any rate. And will continue to be until proven otherwise. :D

A friend, my niece, and I went to see this last weekend and both my friend and I decided it was nothing but pure "fanservice" - the act of having a character half-naked, or fully naked, for no other purpose than to thrill a certain portion of the audience. Personally, I think it led to the best line in the movie "Do-do you have a towel or something you can put on?" I was cheering for Rey at that moment. LOL

To be honest, as a person who usually aesthetically appreciates that kind of fanservice... I don't know if it was because of the clothing or the camera angle, but he looked so weird xD I don't understand how people could find him sexy, I agreed with Rey on him putting a shirt on xD

One of the big bosses brought his toddler daughter for a bit and was playing with her.  A co-worker asked him if he wanted to have more kids.  (I think that he has three already.)  He just answered with that it's a big question and that kids are expensive.  The co-worker said that she loved kids and wanted seven of them.  My internal ace reaction was o_o.  She said that she plans to choose her man wisely.  Seven is a lot.  Usually I only hear people say five at the most.  I would've said something scientific like need all the right traits for passing on, but I think that would sound weird.

My mother has literally mentioned science aptitude and good teeth as reasons she liked my father and thought they'd make a "good mix" of genes. Yeeeeah she's probably on the spectrum.

Also she was initially interested in him because he helped so many elderly ladies on his street. Now that one's a lot cuter.

Those women are brought up to be precisely that. Look at a picture of Michelle and her daughters sometime, there's nothing in their faces, esp. their eyes. Blank, all of them.

@Topi thinking of you when I read it.;)

Why? Because of the fanservice? I like fanservice more when people are all dressed. I love innocent, fully dressed and fluffy fanservice. If someone appears too undressed... I don't want to look at it, It's like I'm invading someones privacy and I feel uncomfortable. If it's small parts of skin exposed it's okay, though and way more interesting than half naked or fully naked. :D I don't want to know how these people are without the clothes, thank you very much!!

Yes, I felt so old when you mentioned it and I didn't have a clue what you were talking about. I had to ask you to explain.

In It's A Wonderful Life, the scene where George gives up all of his goals and aspirations to be with Mary, I never understood it. It seemed so out of nowhere! (and totally opposite to what he wanted) It took me a while to realize that it was a matter of attraction lol

I was surfing Youtube looking for the Vapours version of Turning Japanese. I spotted this:

https://youtu.be/oVjMF_TfY6M

Of course I had to watch it (like a car accident). Afterwards I figure I'm going to Hell for this. What with watching an adult actress dressed up like Sailor Moon dancing around...

Reminded me of a running joke friends and I'd had in the past. "Any particularly favourite porn sites?" "Yeah, www.catholicschoolgirls.com" That video to my eyes looked like it would appeal to a 'certain' portion of the audience. Then I had fanservice explained to me.

A couple of years ago my circus group did a big production and one of my friends came to one of the shows. He was the only one of my friends who was there that evening so I spent pretty much all of the intermission talking to him. Later on one of the other girls from my circus group asked me if he was my boyfriend and I was so confused why she would think that, both because apart from talking and laughing together we didn't do anything couple-ish, we didn't even hug hello and because he's gay and it kind of shows (even I suspected before he came out to me and my gaydar is rubbish). When I told him about that conversation afterwards he found it quite funny and jokingly asked what else he could do so people wouldn't mistake him as straight and if he had to break out his rainbow bow tie.

I first thought my dad must be, but my mom is showing some quirky tendencies too.  I visited my friend the other day and her brother was telling me the stuff that happened to our club (we all went/are going to the same university).  He said that I win the award for the most character development.  Mom took this literally and thought that I won this award last year because that's when I graduated.  No mom, it's just a figurative award, not a physical one.

I probably mentioned this somewhere earlier, but my cousin once asked my mom what she liked in my dad.  They're merely legally married since they show no affection for each other, well it's mostly mom and dad wishing he had some.  My cousin said that my mom's reply was that my dad was a handyman.  He often goes out of his way to help people (probably because he wouldn't get praised for what he does at home).  One day, my dad helped some woman out with moving her junk for the junk collection day when he saw her do it all herself (and ditching me, who was left with the car in a long line to the collection site).  She didn't have to wait in line because she lived next to the junk site.  After dad helped her, she was very grateful.  My dad told her that he lives 5 minutes away, near the big square, and that we have a dog sign in our window.  She actually came by looking for him.  Sometimes she came over to our neighborhood dressed nicely too.  She would give him some food in return for his help.  (Dad's good deeds in the neighborhood have somehow gotten us two jars of peanut butter.)  I do wonder if this lady has a thing for my dad.  I then joked back to my cousin and mom, "dang, those handyman charms are working."  And I think mom could be jealous, not because she wants his affection, but more like if he spends all this time with other people, he can't do the stuff she wants him to do, because that's usually what she spends her time thinking about.  Mom sometimes talks about this woman to me in a defensive tone.  I asked, "do you care?"  She replies no, but I think she still has something in mind, like who's going to do stuff for her.

I have a friend who introduced me to martial arts and now we both are really into it.  Since I was this socially awkward person who barely knows anyone, people would make jokes about us always in the same place as each other at the same time.  One guy even asked where was my other half.  The romance-repulsed person in me had to keep denying it.  We're both ace but my friend is allo-romantic, although demi, so I guess we can fit in like that as aces.

Also a fun conversation with two friends.

[after a few messages exchanged]

Person #1: *posts sticker of Pusheen sleeping with three z's in pink, yellow, and teal-ish blue*

Person #2: What?  Are you going to sleep?

Me: in pansexual colors

Person #2: You're right.

Me: [Person #1] is going to sleep pansexually?

(Person #1 really is pansexual.)

Person #2: How else would she do it?  I can sleep for 8 hours straight and then 4 hours gay.

Me:

Today I saw the new Overwatch League skins for the Gladiators team and THEY ARE ACE PRIDE COLORS! I am totally going to buy one for that reason only.

Did you see these, @karnzter?

Conversation with one of my sisters who doesn’t know I’m ace:

me: Well, he needs to move on. I have.

sister: Some people, you never get over. You just love them for your whole life even if they don’t love you. I think he is just going to love you forever. You’ll understand someday when you fall in love like that.

me: *silently calculating the impossible odds of me dating ever again let alone falling in obsessive love*

I bought it during the Memorial Day weekend sale.  I asked my friend to teach me but we haven't gotten to it.

I got an ace moment after karaoke.  This one girl asked me about how I knew the organizer and then school things, because some people are still in school.  I mentioned about how I started in engineering and when I was switching majors, Asian family friends and relatives keep saying to go into computer science, which was what she was studying, because good pay, but I hate programming.  She then joked, "no money, no honey."  I replied, "I don't need one."  Probably only the organizer and the other mutual friend knew what I meant.

A work colleague (Who doesn't know I'm ace) tagged me in a FB post with the following meme:

No automatic alt text available.

I responded like:

Quote

7+3x=9x+1
3x+7=9x+1
-6x+7=1 when you take away the 9x

-6x=-6 when you take away the 7

-1x=-1 So
x=1
GF=3X

GF=3

No idea why you are sending me algebra questions...

Of course I actually understood what the joke actually is.

I just saw a video on tumblr, it was a video of a couple on a beach. The guy was lying down with his feet up, the woman was balancing herself on the guy's feet and doing tricks... the caption said something like "this is the sexiest thing I've ever seen". I mean, that was absolutely amazing, I wouldn't be able to do that in my wildest dreams, but how on Earth could something like that be considered sexy?

I was talking with my roommate about how I didn’t really like coconut milk. She told me her friend once made her to try some kind of coconut milk that turned out to be bitter and taste like “something” specific (she made a bunch of hand motions).... I had no clue what she was talking about until she shouted “SEMEN, IT TASTED LIKE SEMEN!!!” I really felt like an ace there... ew

So I went to an orthopedist for my knee, and he says he plans to do a surgery on it by taking a tendon from a dead person and attaching it inside my bones.  I told my mom that he was going to give me a tendon.  She laughed because she knows I really like beef tendon.  Later I thought, dang, is that the only time I want meat?

Last night on lunch break the break room was gossiping about ex-coworkers.  It came up that one of them who turned out to be a scuzzball had had a real crush on this one girl that is still there.  "But [name], everyone has a crush on you!" her girlfriend said.  "[Gryphonlover] doesn't!" she called back.  And I was sitting there sorting through a bunch of thoughts like: I didn't realize my ace vibes were that strong; do other coworkers have a crush on her?  Maybe I'm oblivious; and, at least she doesn't think I do, which would be awkward on several levels.

And then I was kicking myself for missing a perfect segue into "I'm ace, I don't have crushes on anyone" cause I've been looking for an excuse to come out more.  But the topic changed and the moment passed.
