Does sex disgust you?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on this. I have always felt a bit sick about the thought of myself having sex, but I don't really feel disgusted or repulsed by the thought of others having sex.

I guess I'm interested to see whether sex is something that just doesn't appeal to you or whether it is something that you find disgusting.

In theory I'm indifferent to the whole idea, and I'm not bothered by the thought of other people doing it. Whatever, that's their business.

However, if I find an 'erotic' story in a book or magazine that goes into detail about a sexual encounter, or if I see images of the 'reproductive parts' shall we say, or pictures of 'it' taking place, or if a friend describes a sexual encounter in a way that leaves nothing to the imagination, then I feel grossed out and a bit sick. Depending on the situation I sometimes also feel amused at the same time, but the revulsion is always there.

If I imagine myself doing it, I feel icked out. If I imagine other people doing it (ie no real images, just images in my head) then I'm OK with it. So I guess I'm pretty similar to you in that respect.

I think it's repulsive when I'm faced with having to do it. I'm pretty indifferent to it when I think about myself doing it, and I'm indifferent to porn as well. I can read erotica fine, and I make sexual jokes a lot.

I can't talk comfortably about my own sexual experiences, though, and, say if I'm watching a film with someone else and a sex scene comes on, I get inexplicably embarrassed and uncomfortable because someone else is there. Huh.

I've never had it. But the idea, concept of it most certainly does.

As you know by reading the forum there certainly are some people who are digusted by sex.

For me, it's not that it's disgusting or yukky or doesn't appeal to me but I have lived this long without having sex or eating leeches, why would I bother now?

I'm pretty indifferent to other people having sex, its not I look down upon the sexual world or anything of the sort.

as for myself I've never had sex so I can't really say..but the thought just seems foreign to me ..I don't know..weird T_T

I've never had it, so I don't really know.

It can disgust me when others do it, but only if it's something tasteless like porn, which is disgusting. Though I think a lot of "normal" people would be disgusted by that too.

If it's because people love each other, then I can understand the appeal of it.

So yeah, I'm undecided.

Straight sex repulses me a bit, gay sex doesn't.

It's the opposite for me. I find the thought of gay sex repulsive but not heterosexual sex. I don't find the latter repulsive at all. It's the gateway to life and life isn't repulsive at all. At least not for me.

I'm not repulsed by sex, in fact it's quite an interest of mine and not something that I view as distasteful or dirty at all.

I might add that I meant that I found the thought of gay sex physically repulsive not morally repulsive.

Ick to doing it (spent many years trying to do it) or watching it. If other people want to, fine, but I don't want to hear about it.

I don't mind the sex that others are having. In some cases it feels natural (for them to have sex) be they friends of mine, fictional people in a movie or a book. I can listen to all the sex jokes in the world and it wouldn't bother me at all. And I find porn hilarious, I can't stop laughing whenever I see it.

But anything that even insinuates that I'll be having sex with somebody positively disgusts me. It really feels like there are worms crawling on my skin, depending on the other's proximity. If somebody makes an open move on me I get very hostile and saying no was never my problem but I still feel like there's something dirty on my skin and it takes me a while to regain my calm.

Ditto. I can read explicit sex scenes/descriptions in novels or non-fiction books, I can talk about it, I've watched programmes and films with quite explicit sex scenes (some of which would be classed as soft porn) and in my area of study (ancient history) there are many depictions of sex and much discussion of (mainly male, homosexual) sex acts. Its only at extremes that I would be disturbed, particularly if it includes depictions of non-consensual sex. I'm not remotely repulsed by the idea of me having sex, I can and have been involved in sex in the past; I'm just pretty indifferent as to whether I do it or not.

Yesss sex disgusts me.

I can't really imagine myself having sex, but I hardly can imagine others doing it either. But I don't like to. Details gross me out when they're about sex.

I agree with GreyCloud, for some reason gay sex is a little less repulsive for me.

Yes, what Sally said.

Now even the thought of sex repulses me, I used to watch a lot of movies but it seems they all have sex scenes and even that makes me cringe. I don't care if others have sex but I definetly do NOT want to hear about it. I spent most of my life trying to fit in with sexuals but even then I thought in my heart that the only reason for sex is to reproduce why else would I agree to do it.

Now even the thought of sex repulses me,

I agree with Judy. It's kind of strange; the longer the time from when I was trying to be sexual, the more repulsed I am. I would think that wouldn't be the case, because I don't have to actually do it anymore, but boy, it just seems ickier and more stupid every day.

I wouldn't say that sex disgusts me. It's something that just isn't for me and I have no interest in. I would say that oral sex disgusts/repulses me.

I'm mostly indifferent to other people doing it. I don't find it repulsive at all, and I confess that sometimes, I'm even curious. But when it comes to imagining myself doing it, it definitely isn't something I want. I dunno, I don't find it repulsive exactly, just... uncomfortable. Really not something I'd want.

I didn't realise so many people even THOUGHT about sex to compare gay to straight, yukky to okay etc etc

The idea of others having sex has no emotion from myself BUT I am suprised so many other members find it so repulsive?

For me the act of sex and feelings with it are what make me Asexual..complete nothingness of any feeling of any kind and I have no yey or ney about it.

It does though I feel show that whilst some may say they they are not interested in sex and that it doesn't interest them that some do have a reaction about it..even if it a repulsive one

Not exactly 'disgusted', perhaps I just think it's dirty?

There is just something about it that makes me want to my cheek to it.

not repulsed, just not interested.

I'm more repulsed by the reproductive parts sometimes. Like I saw a picture of a girl's vajayjay (lol) last week and it grossed me out more than anything.
