Peix
I drink far less than I used to. Got a bit bored of it. Occasionally though (my birthday for example) I will go out and get lashed... :? --El Peix
Remirath
I drink as much alcohol as I can get my hands on. Though, being a minor with strict parents that isn't all that much. I don't like the taste occassionally but there also some drinks I like a lot.
SuXEed
I'm a Straight Edge myself. I can't see the point in any form of recreational drugs, including alcohol. Apparently, a knees up is fun, but cancer, being a drink drive killer or kidney failure isnt. I don't mind if others do these things (excluding smoking when I'm near), but I feel it's short sighted and can't see why it's so fun, but I'm not much of a sociable person. Still, it damages the body and there are other way to socialise that don't involve mind altering substances...

I can't abide second hand smoke. My lungs seem very sensative to it. As is my nose.

Chaos89
I sometimes drink, but I do not get drunken - don't like it... When I go out it's "normal" to drink, so I often also do, but only when I'm feeling good :)
Piscator
I've tried to be straight... edged too. I've had alcohol before and I've smoked a few times, but now I stay away from pretty much everything, though lately I've found myself drinking caffeine, usually in the form of tea or a soft drink. It's kind of too bad, since I think it violates the straight, even while putting the edge in straight edged. But I'm not addicted, or anything... (am I? am I?...) Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a recreational caffeine user. Better than being a professional one, I suppose. As for alcohol, from what I noticed it seems to have an effect on me that's like taking me back to being 5 years old before I learned my inhibitions. I poke at people, and tease them... but not in a sexual way (as far as I know, at least.. I haven't been in mixed company with peers in such a state). It's kind of funny, but of course I don't want the damage it can bring to the organs, least of all on the brain, so I tend to avoid it.

Retasha
I was pestered into tasting wine and beer once, but I wasn't thrilled by the taste and I've never tried drinking again. I just don't see the point in trying to choke down something that tastes so vile. ...not to mention I don't really approve of drinking just to drink. Mexad
I drink quite a bit. I absolutely love parties, and I think it's part of what makes a good party. Without alcohol the social atmosphere would be completely different... the atmosphere of new people who are all on a social and good mood, the loud and (hopefully) good music, the atmosphere of lax social code etc. It's not really so much the alcohol that I like, but what simply it allows. Sang karaoke half naked? Blame alcohol! Broke something? "I was drunk"! Said something amazingly stupid? Yeah, you get the point. I know it's not good for my health, but being asex I don't want to get picky on things I like. You could almost say it's kind of a counter-reaction to asexuality, and I'm willing to take whatever comes with it at later age.
stormwind
No! Yuck, it's gross! Except for Boone's wine coolers, since they taste more like ginger ale than alcohol. As a little kid, sometimes my dad would let me have a sip of his beer. Uuugh! In high school, my best friend and I would drink rum in coca-cola to get a buzz on, which was fun, but the drink was disgusting. It ruined the soda! The only time I was ever actually drunk was at my grandmother's birthday in 2000. The Italian restraunt served very strong red wine...I drank several glasses...awful stuff...and fell asleep with my head on the table. I wasn't a fun drunk. No dancing on the table with a lampshade on my head. I eventually staggered outside to sleep in the car. I don't remember much about that night. I probably missed out on some good pasta...I think it was a chicken dish. Never again. At the time my parents got divorced, my father was a drunk. Once he nearly killed us driving drunk on a winding mountain road along a river. It was embarrassing bringing a friend home and finding him like that. So, even though he went to AA and changed, it was enough to show me I never want to live my life like that.
Apollonian
Nope. Never touched the stuff and never will. No alcohol or cigarette has ever touched my lips, nor have I done any type of drugs. I don't even so much as take aspirin, something some friends haven't understood.
bydefault
A friend in college bought me a beer on my birthday to celebrate the fact that I was now "street legal". I tried not to make it obvious as it was not a cheap beer but the stuff tasted like medicine to me. Awful! Sometime later I tried a sip of wine - again, medicine taste. Blecch! A smoke? Makes me choke. Drugs? Why do I need mind-altering substances when mine is altered enough?
waffo
I drink because some taste good (like fruity wine). I do not and have never drunk to get drunk. I drank some champagne once and got a little giggly. It tasted horrible, though...
retrophile
I'd like to see more of the "Sure, all the time" people speak up. Me, I think being drunk must be one of my autistic sensory addictions, because I love it. I don't smoke cigarettes though. They make my chest hurt. Me, I think being drunk must be one of my autistic sensory addictions, because I love it.I don't smoke cigarettes though. They make my chest hurt. I love beer with my whole heart (as long as it's good beer, i.e. not Bud or any of its disgusting cousins). I love tequila, especially in margaritas. I love a good whiskey sour or gin and tonic. In fact, if it's alcoholic, I pretty much love it. I like being drunk too - it's nice to feel all warm and hazy occasionally. It's a good thing I don't have an addictive personality, because if I did, I'd be drunk all the time and smoke like a chimney. As it is, I probably average a drink a week with a binge maybe once every 3 months. I only smoke cigarettes if I'm already drunk and someone else has them. Whew! Kamtoad
I don't drink - at all. I don't like the taste of pretty much an alcohol since I can almost always taste the alcohol in it (I have a ridiculously strong sense of taste), and the idea of drinking a poison since that's what it is, has never sat well with me. Lekzýs
The grand total of all the alcohol I've consumed is something like three pints of beer, five glasses of wine, and twelve glasses of champagne, all between midnight on the 1st of January 2000, and Christmas Day 2006. On the off-chance anyone wants the details, well, I had one glass of champagne at the start of 2000, and then one every Christmas until 2006, and one every New Year until 2005; I had two glasses of wine last December, on different weekends, with my mother, two one day the year before when we had visitors, and one the year before that when we had visitors; and I had one pint of beer in February 2006, and then two sometime in mid-September of that year. Needless to say, I have never been drunk, and never intend to be, especially since I no longer touch alcohol at all.
cyan
I said "I never bothered to try", since that comes closest ... I've made a point of not bothering to try, because (like a number of others who have commented), I heartily dislike the idea of not being in control of myself. Or, as I tried to explain (badly) to a friend of mine when I was in Japan ... "I already get flushed and act like a retard; what do I need to get drunk for?"

reverse_thrust
I like some types of wine, which fortunately I can't afford. I'm way too prone to addiction to start up another habit. Coffee is enough for me.
Charlieee
Ignoring the fact that I'm a minor, and can't drink anyway... ( ) My mom's let me try a variety of drinks at home, so I'm not trying them elsewhere, and none of them really do it for me. So I doubt I'll be drinking at all when I'm actually allowed to. Guest
Very rarely, and very little when I do. I can't stand most drinks(Beer, vodka, rum, whisky...etc). Therefore, non-drinking is made very easy for me.
skenasis
I'm straight edge, so I don't drink at all. However, I picked the 'used to but not anymore' option because I did drink in the past - though NEVER heavily (never enough to so much as get tipsy) and only very rarely. Marvin
I drink. Probably too much. My last two weeks have involved going out and drinking once every other day. I'm not so likely to drink too heavily as I have been, but that's possibly because my tolerance for the stuff is now high enough to accommodate the things I do drink. The interesting thing is, until about 2 years ago I hardly ever dared touch the stuff. In fact, I made a deliberate point of not drinking. Mostly for the control reason that's been mentioned previously.
