I agree with Liberals on LGBT issues, Abortion rights, etc. But I take a more conservative view on things like protecting an individual's right to property & earned income.

Tori Amos said it best- "in a perfect world, you keep the Democrats out of your bank account and the Republicans out of your bedroom." :D

economically very left wing but right over some things - i think the wealth should be shared more fairly as many of the super rich only have it due to being in the right place at the right time

but on issues like that of ronnie biggs i say let him rot

im also against telling people exactly how to live their lives but cant work out if thats come from ultra left or right

Mostly indifferent. My beliefs can be found scattered all across the political lines and probably none set in one side more than the other. I dont like politics and only tolerate it because I dont think I'd enjoy the chaos that would ensue without some form of government control and responsibility and rules in place. But I think all politicians lie; even those with good intentions because everybody lies at some point in their life.

These lines from the song "Aint no Reason" by Bret Dennen pretty much expresses my views on politics:

The wind blows wild and I may move,

The politicians lie and I am not fooled.

You don't need no reason or a three piece suit to argue the truth.

I'm not really covered in the poll options....

I'm an anarchist, specifically identifying with the collectivist/syndicalist elements of anarchism.

Politics? Hmmm... To be honest, my political opinions are spread out so widely across the board that it's difficult to categorize as "conservative" or "liberal". Some things I believe aren't even supported by most political parties, some by any. Heck, my views are so weird I could probably found my own party, so...

I really don't care. I'm not that into politics and if I try to talk about them people act like I'm kooky. <_<

Hmmm. I'm really non of these. I'm a left radical, so I've got some similar views as a liberal, but I'm certainly not really a liberal. And I don't identify as a libertarian.

I don't think I'm Ultra anything, to be honest. Especially in UK politics where we're all shifted to the left of the US (or should I say, the US is shifted right of most other western countries) but there ya go. I think of myself a socialist, really, so I went for the option that sounds most similar. And that probably is seen as ultra left in America, sadly. And I'm not even one of the most hardcore of hardcore ultra lefty socialists either lol!

This poll is, perhaps, a bit US biased? Maybe someone should come up with one that has a scale showing where communist, socialist, middle, conservative, fascist and so on are with the spots in between alongside where different parts of different parties and so on stand and THEN put up a poll.

ETA: Liberal, when you're using it to mean libertarian, isn't the same as, saying 'oh, I'm a fairly liberal Republican as far as Republicans go' or 'I'm on the more liberal end of the Democrats'. Or not always, anyway. So the poll is slightly confusing there too.

I didn't vote. My political ideal is free-market anarchy. I see that there are other anarchist/anarchist-leaning members here, though they hold a different anarchist philosophy. Correction, I did spot an anarchist who supported laissez faire.

How can you be a collectivist anarchist?

You can hold collectivist ideals yet reject the idea of a state. Search wikipedia for collectivist anarchism. Also, there is more than one type of anarchist. ;)

Anarchy, Libertarianism and Communism have some nice ideas in them, even some great ones, until you take into account the tiny matter of human nature. Then they don't work so well. I mean if you could get some crazy assed hybrid of the lot that took the best aspects and put it into place, and then managed to get human nature of both the citizens and those nominally (or not so nominally, depending) in charge to play along... it'd be interesting to see.

Being a socialist, when it comes to the 'extreme' ends of the political spectrum I'd probably fall in with the Commies the most, as in the Marxists not the crap that went on in Russia and China. But it does take it too far for my liking and besides, we've seen what happens when people try to put it into power. I expect most of 'em start out with the best of intentions but it sure doesn't seem to work well for long.

Oh, and I don't get the people who aren't political either. Which isn't to say that people have to get heavily involved in it, but just pay SOME attention, enough to know who you want to vote for and why at least. And be media savvy enough to look past the surface and realise there is bias and there's editing just like there is in history.

Hmm, a tricky one. I think my political views are mostly Liberal, but mostly Anarchist aswell.

You can't really run a country without a goverment though, could you? There are the odd 5,000,000,000 people that would take advantage of such a situation.

So, with the obligation of having a political system, I would choose Liberal
