Basically thinking up fanfictions and AU’s of cartoons, movies, and video games before I even knew fanfictions were a thing, imagining myself and everyone I knew as characters in them. I still do that a lot of course lol.

I don't know if Superpowers count as magical powers but I wanted to be The Flash. Toward the end of the school year was what they called Field Day. The whole school would go out to the high school's baseball field and run several races. a 50 yard dash, potato sack race, 3-legged race, tug of war, and other running races added over the years. participation in each event has optional. I was tired of ridicule for always coming in last so I realized if each event was optional, they that means I don't have to compete in anything. The school hated that and changed the runs making all events mandatory barring an injury and authorization from the school nurse. So I dreamed of being the Flash and blowing everyone away. (Also for the rest of my time in school my goal became to they to sprain my ankle ever year in the days leading up to Field Day.

A four-way tie of having magic powers, Isekai-ing myself into another world, turning into a cat, and/or gaining the ability to fly.

My biggest fantasies as a child included having magical powers (basically any power I could imagine), going on a fantastic adventure in another world (specifically both things together), turning into a cat (not any other animal, only a cat), and living in (or at least exploring) a ginormous castle that's possibly interdimensional.

Nowadays I don't care as much about the castle.

OH MY GOSH!! HAVING MAGICAL POWERS!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I was always jealous of characters I saw on TV that had magic. I wanted to be them soooo bad! 😩😩 Performing spells by simply waving their hand a certain was/is so cool to me.

I was also very adventurous and was also envious of characters that got to go on new adventures every episode or explore a new world in a movie. 😔 I’m telling you I wasn’t meant for the this world. But since I am, the second biggest fantasy I had was becoming rich.

I liked to pretend that I was the plucky heroine who fought back against the evil authority figures in the story. Sometimes I was an astronaut, a fairy, a scientist, or a traveler. I still like the idea of being a traveler who goes from one world to the next, always roaming through sprawling cities and misty forested mountains.

I remember that I had a friend who really liked to play princesses. She would describe every single detail of her opulent outfits, which I got bored of after a while 😂

Definitely some of the fantasy aspects and going on adventures. Kinda the one with friends/popularity but it was more of just finding people that would understand me/that would stick around.

I'm gonna be maximally weird and admit that what I fantasized about most as a child was having someone who wasn't a doctor listen to my heart with a stethoscope.  I thought about it nonstop and was always asking people in elementary school if they would be willing to.

My more "normal" answer would be having some kind of powers.  I was obsessed with Sailor Moon and Power Rangers and referred to myself as a "Light Power Girl" when I was 5 to 8 or so, with no explanation of what that was supposed to be. 😂

Superpowers yes, and adventures. Also sometimes rescuing people from burning buildings and so on. And running away to forage and live in the woods with the animals. 🦉

Other: my fantasy was being a totally different person, generally a fictional one who looked nothing like me.

Spoiler

Actually this still is my fantasy 🙃

Invisibility? Or shapeshifting? Idk tbh.

There was a point in time I got super inspired to be a detective because I watched a shit ton of Murdoch Mysteries at 9yrs old

I had so many! One was being a fairy living in a Pixie Hollow. I wanted to be a fairy SO BAD! I’d make fairy houses in the backyard, and I read a lot of Disney Fairies books. Still love fairies.

I also was a big fan of the Scary Godmother movies, and I wished I could live with Scary Godmother as a ghost girl (but someone who was somehow born a ghost, not someone who had died).

In addition, I loved the movie Sky High and wished I could kick butt with superpowers, too.

Wanted to be a secret agent too. 😎 I made a whole story and comic about it.

Going on an awesome adventure was definitely one of the big ones. I did a lot of reading, always had at least three books with me so if I finished one I could just jump straight to the next one. Some of my favourite books were the Kingdom of Fantasy series by Geronimo Stilton and I thought it would be so cool to be him and go on adventures like him. One of my most frequent pastimes was coming up with fantastical stories, putting in all the details and making it feel like it could be real. My Lego minifigs all had backstories, and the three CDs I’d play on loop had characters and full storylines.

When I was really little, I wanted to be a cat/dog for a while, until I learned foxes exist. (I hardcore insisted on this, until I was maybe seven.) Definitely wanted to be able to shapeshift, into anything I wanted at any time. I still remember a discussion I had with my classmates about why shapeshifting was objectively the best power to have.

Since I was probably six or so, I was totally dead set on being a badass scientist and I wanted to discover something that no one had ever known about before. (Honestly, this is still the case. It would be so epic.)

I wanted all my teachers in school to see my discovery in the news or something so that a) my favorite teachers could see that they really helped me reach my dreams like they hoped  b) so the shitty ones that told me I’d never do anything in life could eat their words.
