Join the team!

We are looking for more members of the AVEN Declassification Team. This is an important office, and the good thing about it is that you don't need to mete out warnings or such. :)

See more about that here:

http://www.asexuality.org/en/topic/123437-introducing-avens-new-declassification-team/

We are now taking nominations. If you are interested, throw cookies, cakes, your hat, turnip, or whatever you have into the ring. Just be sure to make it clear that you wish to run.

Eligibility requirements include being a member for at least 6 months, and having at least 100 posts that are not in the Just for Fun or Welcome Lounge forums. You also cannot run with an active, current, warning.

Also, see the following for election rules:

http://www.asexuality.org/en/topic/90514-rules-and-procedure-for-elections/

Voting will be by a vote of confidence. A bio must be sent to me before voting starts.

This is the timeline for this election:

Sunday, 19 October to Friday, 24 October: Nominations

Friday, 24 October to Monday, 27 October: Dedicated Q&A

Monday, 27 October to Saturday, 1 November: Voting

Good luck to anyone running! I highly encourage anyone who has been thinking about joining the team to put their hat in. :)

I kind of want to try this. (even though I'm a huge procrastinator... 😅)

After reading through the description, it does seem like something I could do, although, I'll admit that I still don't fully understand it.

Of course, to my knowledge, I should also be an eligible candidate.

But, before « officially » applying, I think I'd like to have a full in depth explanation of what being part of DT entails. I wouldn't want to screw up on day one, because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Either shoot me a message, reply here, or link a post that already explains it. All perfectly okay with me. 👍

Basically, our job is declass old reports. Whenever a message is reported, there is a discussion held by Mods as to what if any action needs to be taken. As Declass, our job is to go through these reports, delete any sensitive data (user names, links to other posts mostly), and log the changes made. This allows the old reports to be released and made public. The idea behind this, is to hold the Mods accountable and make sure there has been no unprofessional behavior. Its a cool job and important. I hope this answers your questions and please feel free to ask more on this thread.

It's definitely a lot clearer now, thanks for that. Although, I do need to know how much time commitment is required for this position.

By that I mean, do I need to spend 3 hours a day declassifying, or just 1? Or even just 30 minutes? I ask this, because, as someone who is not chronically online, I do have other stuff going on in my life lol. I'm sure you can understand that I don't really want to spend an excessive amount of time doing this.

That should be my only question, the rest I understand well enough now. Thanks in advance.

Theres not really a time requirement although sometimes the reports can take a while to declass.

Well that's great then. I do believe, with all of that, I am ready now.

Is there a requirement for members to be active every day?

My account was made on May 10th, so I'm not sure if I qualify 😅

Edit: Forgot to ping @Kelly If my account is around 5 months old, should I wait until next year?

Yes. You can run upon having six months. So next election will probably be OK.
