CindyB
Just starting my journey, trying to figure out “what I am“. I have a bit of a pattern of feeling very strong, romantic, and sexual attraction to somebody who either has no interest in me or who I don’t know very well. Once the relationship gets going and the person starts to fall in love with me I lose interest. Is this on the asexual spectrum? Any thoughts or anybody else identify? Maybe there’s just something wrong with me…🫣
fizzbuzz
This sounds close to lithosexuality (also part of the ace spec). Maybe lithromanticism as well?
SilenceRadio
I'm reminded of fraysexuality. 1 hour ago, CindyB said: Maybe there’s just something wrong with me… I don't think there is. Sometimes, things can be more palatable when there's distance involved. Maybe reciprocation makes it "too real" and you don't like that? Then again, I've also heard of lesbians who thought they were attracted to men, but as soon as these men would reciprocate their feelings, they'd completely lose interest. Sarah-Sylvia
@CindyB Did you actually like them, or were you just attracted superficially and didn't really like their personality or how you get along in a closer way?
MinnieMouse
Welcome to AVEN! 👋 What you describe sounds pretty much like frayromanticism and fraysexuality. You can read more about it here: https://lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/Frayromantic Frayromanticism is part of the aromantic spectrum and fraysexuality is part of the asexual spectrum. I’ve started wondering if I’m frayromantic myself, and I’m sure there are many frays here, so you’re not alone and there’s nothing wrong with you. 💜
