Sam and Max Hit The Road has comedy I've enjoyed throughout my life.

Disco Elysium is an unusually funny game, but also a dark game full of pathos.

I'm not as big of a Portal fan as many (haven't played the 2nd) but parts in the 1st were really funny.

Streets of Rage is pretty funny.

Gunpoint was really funny.

VA-11 Hall-A had a lot of really funny parts.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines doesn't have comedy as one of its focuses, unlike the games above, but still has a lot and it's great.

Hmm...possibly Akiba's Trip. The premise is hilarious really. The Yakuza/Like a Dragon games have a LOT of humor in them. Lots of funny stuff, as well as serious stuff. So it's a good mix.

I've been playing the Witcher 3 recently, and I just got up to this one scene at Kaer Morhen (if you've played the game you know the scene I'm talking about) and couldn't stop laughing for like 5 minutes. Was seriously considering reloading my safe so I could play it all over again. If you haven't played the Witcher 3, you should totally check it out. It's not really supposed to be a funny game, but there's lots of humor in it and it has a great story.

Akiba's Trip.

That one is on my list of games to keep an eye out for, so far it hasn’t shown ip in any local shop, and I don’t want to travel to the other side of the country so…. the wait continues.

Are they stand alone games? I’m pretty certain they aren’t all available on ps4 and I don’t want to skip out on the plot.

Witcher 3

I have that, just haven’t played it yet. It’s in my pile of ‘games i still have yet to play’.

It’s a very big pile.

They share similar characters, but for the most part, each game is standalone with the plotline. If you like rpg styles (as far as turn-based battles go), then you might want to start with Like a Dragon, which is before LAD Infinite Wealth (what I'm playing now). Those are on ps4 I believe. If you want to try the older games, there is the Yakuza Remastered collection on the ps4. : ) So that's an option, too!

I noticed someone else mentioned this series in the thread, and I'd recommend starting with Yakuza 0. It's generally considered a good starting point for people who want to follow the story. Quite a few of the side quests are downright absurd, like retrieving a kid's stolen game... But the thief keeps losing the game to another thief. The ridiculous nature of the side quests can be jarring compared to the serious main story, but it's also refreshing at times.
