lovely_xm07
It has always really, REALLY bothered me how Hollywood is completely okay with sexualizing teenagers and children, but when it comes to having one of them being asexual, it’s out of the question!! I don’t know, sometimes I think Hollywood should stick to what they know best which is representing a cishet white male because clearly they don’t want to do their research on ANY minority or woman out there. Loved the video though. I had no idea people knew about us before the 2020s honestly, even if that representation was rooted in acephobia. LOVE Todd Chavez and Issac though!! 🖤🩶🤍💜 We still got a long way to go when it comes to representation though. Obviously. 😅

They need a more diverse writing room. Time and time again do we see how that only improved content. They had actual asexual people to consult with for Todd Chavez, and the creator of Heartstopper is aroace to write Isaac well. And as great as these characters are, they’re still cis white men. We really need intersectionality everywhere really. 17 hours ago, lovely_xm07 said: even if that representation was rooted in acephobia. Honestly, I’m feeling like any and all of early representation is not rooted in good faith and are the butt of the joke. It’s really a shame. Though, I am looking forward to more better examples.
