When you put a bookmark in a book, where do you put it?

I have used this assumption before.

Once after finishing a chapter, I felt "sure I will remember "

 

At the end of the next chapter, I was a bit confused as I didn't know who a character was, what surgeries he needed and other things about the chapter.

 

Turned out I went from chapter 3 to chapter 5, missing chapter 4 in the book.

I exclusively read e-books and fanfics- which obviously are only available on digital medium. 

 

Most of the software I use, automatically open the book to the page I was last on, so there is not an issue of bookmarking anything. EPUB readers do that, PDF readers do that, so that comes in handy. 

 

When reading fanfic, if the site refreshes the page I am out, that will only take me to the beginning of the chapter, not the entire book. I don't mind reading that chapter again from the start, but I am generally good with remembering where I left off.

Yeah, these days when I do read something longer, it's often an e-text too. 

 

 

 

Having said that, when I last went on a trip and the time came to buy a small memento, I decided on a bookmark with miniature pictures of local attractions, so maybe I'll use it in the future...

This poll is being locked and moved to the read only Census archive for it's respective year. As part of ongoing Census organisation, and in an attempt to keep the demographics of the polls current with the active user base at the time, the polls will last for one year from now on.
