Apparently I'm in the mood to make multiple threads in the space of several hours.

Ā

So I was eating jellybeans. As one does, if they like and are in possession of jellybeans. And I was thinking about how I always leave the green ones for last. I don'tĀ dislikeĀ them, I just don't like them as much as the others. It's not actually about the colour itself, I love green, and also they're lime-flavoured (I think?) and I don't dislike lime either. But somehow the green ones are still the most boring to me.

Ā

My fiancĆ© doesn't like the black ones, which are black liquorice. A few times I've offered to go through the bag of them and remove all the black ones for him. šŸ˜‚ IĀ doĀ like the black ones, which is interesting because I don't care for black liquorice itself... but I think the jellybean version is less intensely flavoured than actual black liquorice, so maybe that's why I don't mind them.

Ā

Anyway. Time to vote.

Ā

(Also I'm just thinking of standard jellybeans here, not the fancy ones like Jelly Belly or other... gourmet jellybeans... with weird colours and exotic flavours.)

I bought jellybeans a while ago (they're not really popular in my country, they just appear in supermarkets from time to time) and there were blue ones, they were blueberry-flavoured.

I'm not sure which "colour" is my least favourite, they all tasted pretty good to me, but I do have 2 favourites, coconut (white) and peach (orange with red dots)

Oh yeah, I love those too when I get Jelly Bellys or some similar brand.Ā

My ex-husband used to own a candy shop, and ohhhhh my god, I ate so many of these. 🤤

The gourmet jelly beans have a flavour that I despise but I don't know what it's supposed to be. It tastes awful.

Ā

Regular flavours are all fine. I'm not always in the mood for black jelly beans but sometimes I really like them, so I suppose I'm good with all the regular flavoursĀ

I dislike the red, for non flavoured ones the food colouring added is just off putting, knowing what it is.

For the Jelly Belly range again the 'cinnamon' or 'strong cinnamon' ones I dislike.

I kind off went off eating jelly beans after eating 914* jelly beans in a short space of time

I don't eat jelly beans so I just thought about what would be the most off-putting color to put on a jellybean. I said black just because if I saw just one black jellybean somewhere in a bag of them, I would think it was not safe to eat because of how I was taught to associate colors like grey, black and white to be associated with rotting food.

Regular jellybeans are barely worth it to me. Black is great, red, yellow, and orange are fine, green is mid, the rest I barely tolerate. You can buy a bag of black ones so I'd rather just do that.

Ā

Now the giant Jelly Belly variety bag, that's where it's at.

Oh man, that brought back a memory.Ā

Ā

When I was about ten, the post office in the little village near where I grew up had a big jar of jellybeans in the lobby, and they were running a 'guess how many' contest for a few weeks. My dad taught me how to count the ones visible on the outside and do the proper calculations to come up with a rough estimate of the contents. I won, but my prize wasn't the jellybeans themselves. It happened to be some sort of milestone year for Canada Post and I won a T-shirt with an image of a commemorative stamp featuring a Canadian superhero.

I'm not aĀ licorice fan, so I don't eat the black ones. I've tried them, but they're just not for me. My grandpa loved them though, so it worked out just fine. He could have all mine.

Ā

Nowadays, I think the white coconut ones are boring (aesthetically), but I loooooove coconut. If any of those are around, I save those for last.Ā

Pink. Not the taste it's the colour šŸ˜‚ Otherwise I can't say much as most don't like the licorice one but I could live on licorice.Ā

In that case, I don't like any, because I don't eat gelatin. Some time ago I've eaten some jelly beans with plant-based gellifying agent, but also then I haven't eaten enough of them, or recently enough, to be able to say which ones I liked less. Certainly I didn't even try some of them, for example I don't like watermelons, so I didn't try watermelon-flavoured jellies.

The ones I have here don't have any gelatine, actually.

black jellybeans just taste so bad xD. They're meant to be black licorice flavoured right? Maybe I wouldn't dislike them as much now.

The thing is, no, they're not. That's what they tell you because they don't think anyone knows what anise is, and they've done it so much that a lot of people just think that's what licorice tastes like. They're two completely different flavors with vaguely similar profiles at best.

Not so much the color, but the flavor of the black ones puts me off. I don't really have any preferences or objections to any of the actual colors of standard jelly beans. I'm also not a fan of hot ones or coconut (but I think those are usually not part of standard jelly beans, unless maybe sold on their own; such as a bag of hot jelly beans?).

Ā

(yeah, some of the fancy brands have some awful flavors, but I don't know if there are any colors I don't like - maybe some of the brownish ones)

Green. No matter which sweets we're talking about, green is always the worst.

Black sounds gross but colors I hate are any jellybean in the game where you either get a good flavor or something gross like socks or barf

Black. Whyyyy do they exist?

Ā

When I was a kid, I got a pack of those fancy Harry Potter ones while traveling. I never had the courage to finish them all because someone in my class told me that her friend had one of the really nast ones (I think it was rotten egg) and threw up

OH, IT’S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE HAD JELLY BEANS!!!Ā
Ā

I remember absolutely hating the black ones. They always tasted so weird and much too strong in like a sour way. At least to me. I’m not a huge fan of cherry either. Sometimes it’s good but other times, again, the flavor will be too strong.
