So the scenario is outside of work hours, that you have had an idea that you, but now with schedule of sending emails, you can choose when to send

For me, I feel to try to schedule to send it at shorty before work is due to start

It depends for me. Who I'm sending it to, what time of year I am sending it, what the issue is, etc..

I tend to work some super long hours in my job, and I do try and schedule send items to the client, and sometimes other team members if they've logged off for the night. But if it is our super busy time, sometimes I don't bother, I just want the emails out, and occasionally people at the client are also working late and end up replying back quicker. My team is typically also working late, along with most everyone else who works at my workplace so will often send these at whatever time of day.

I guess some people I have to email are not in the same time zone, so when I schedule send emails I also keep that in mind, and maybe schedule it for earlier/later depending where they are located so it hits the start of their workday rather than mine.

My answers are based on my old workplace and environment there. Might be different in other scenarios. If I was off the clock I would wait until I was on the clock. I wouldn't bother about scheduling it. People can read it when they want.

It wouldn't make any difference for my last law firm because we all knew each other's phone numbers so we were never free from each other.

I send the mail as soon as I can. It's up to the reader then to read it when they got time.

I don't schedule work emails. I'd reply as soon as I notice the email in my inbox.

My previous workplace had a habit of sending emails outside of working hours and expecting (well, demanding) a reply before the next work day. It's fine if they work overtime, but they can't expect the employees to do so, so ever since then I've set my boundaries to not reply nor send emails outside of office hours as much as possible, out of respect for my colleagues.

I do have my work outlook on my phone, so I do see emails coming in, and I have to admit that I reply sometimes if really necessary, but if I'm the one asking something, I draft the message and send it the next work day

at the moment: straight away. I am a student and most profs will read their emails at the weirdest time. Offices will answer at their working time, I don'T mind but try to keep that in mind

In a working environment: Outside of work I don't write work emails. Not only to not bother others but because I'm off the clock. I will probably write a sticky note

Considering I'm known for sending email at 3 in the morning I'd say it doesn't matter.

The receiver can read it whenever they deem fit.

During work time. I might draft up some key points to come back to so I don't forget but I won't be spending my free time on work

Haha so true!

Sometimes if I don't want to reveal I was up at 3 am I will schedule send for a time oddly specific like 7:13 am.

Send it as soon as possible. You are writing it at a convenient time for you so they can read it when it's convenient for them.

I often just send an email back right after I finish reading it and come up with a reply, no matter who the person is. I don't really have a specific reason why, but perhaps it's so I don't forget that I still have to email them back?
