As the title says.

Personally I don't take resolutions but I set goals.

I haven't made any resolutions per se in years. Back when I still did I always ended up breaking them.

I decided to pick up some new hobbies at the beginning of this year though, and I've stuck with some of them, so I guess that's kind of a success.

I have hang ups around resolutions and new years. When I was younger we used to have to have a specific New Year's day meal and go around and list our resolutions for the new year. It felt very much like Thanksgiving and going around the table to share what we are thankful for. All of it, no matter what any of us kids said, was judged or used against us. Holiday's were stressful pits of despair and nightmares anyway.

I try to go more the goal route (though work burnt me out on goals) or with themes vs resolutions or goals.

Nah, if I want to change something, I start when it comes up. Doesn't have to be a new year to better myself and set goals

Same for me. Knowing myself, I would just use a resolution as a way to procrastinate. If I want to change something, I have to start working on it right away. If I wait for the "right" time I'll never get around to it.

I set goals, too. But I keep in mind that there might be something that disturbs on the way. Like, the majority of my goals is health-related and sometimes I collapse, which is normal when you deal with chronic illness. But setting goals is helpful, even if I can't manage to reach them before the end of the year.

I try to set goals and also think of ways to improve myself to be a better person. It at least focusses me on doing better in whatever way I feel like I’m failing. I want to one day like myself.

I’m reminded of Alan Watts because he said it’s better to try and achieve something on a day by day basis rather than picture the whole year ahead. Less daunting.

I set myself a set of goals at the start of 2022 and I failed pretty much almost all of them. Most of them because they were way more complicated than I thought and the rest I didn't give them the time they needed. But I am proud of the two I actually manged. I also think that because I treated them like a to-do list I kept putting them off for later.

I don't know what theme I'm going to go with for 2023 but I hope I accomplish more than this year.

Oh and if you don't understand what I mean by theme this video explains it in detail:

My last one was to become vegan. Other than that I don't remember any of my past ones besides the year I resolved to survive all five nights of fnaf (which I did btw lol)

I don't think I'll make one this year.

I don't make any at all, so...

This year I didn't make any either. I'm not very creative with ideas anyway

I think I tried to set some goals once or twice, but I never managed to get them and it made me feel sad, so I don't bother anymore.

Whenever I make one I either forget it within a few days after making it, or I remember it but just don't feel motivated enough to actually make progress towards it, plus for some reason when I try and make one it just feels like a goal with a deadline.

For me, making goals is for big, important aspects of life. I make resolutions to motivate myself to make smaller life changes that are easily attainable but that I might need a little push to get started.

I don't make new year resolutions coz I feel like it jinxes my year, or sets me up for failure, so I'd rather go in blind....

I don't like the concept of doing things at an arbitrary time like when the year changes. When I need a change, I try to implement it - and I need motivation. The change of the number on the calender does not motivate me at all. And I grew up with people making resolutions and half-heartedly sticking to them because that's what one does. New year, new me!

Doesn't sound sustainable but a good way to stress yourself out.

Happy for those for whom it works though!

It's just not for me, personally.
