Ceebs
I don't think I care because I don't think it makes a difference to me. If there's bad news I'll fixate on that regardless, unless it's heavily outweighed by the good news.
ElloryJaye
I don't generally want to hear the bad news at all.

Autumn ace
Good news doesn’t feel like good news if it’s followed by bad news. It gets overwhelmed. It’s the glass half full of a situation if it’s delivered after bad news
J. van Deijck
I think bad news first, so maybe good news will make up for that.
Jordan...
It depends on what the news' are. If it's like: Good - "We get to go to do *thing we wanted to do for ages*" Bad - "I am extremely busy, so we'll need to go a week later than planned" Good first. 100%. Give me the good news, and then set any restrictions enforced by the bad news. Or maybe: Good - "Family meal has been planned and will be on the 8th" Bad - "But great-uncle Merth won't be there because he had a heart attack last night and died" Again, start with good. End on death, don't try and "lighten the mood" unless the good news is literally just "At least there was no pain" But if it's like: Good - "I've just gone and gotten your favourite biscuits" Bad - "There was a leak in the kitchen that ruined all the biscuits in the cupboard" Then start with the bad. Because at least you're telling me there's something to enjoy in spite of the bad.
