when did you first become interested in politics and why?

Probably age 20-21,  when I was growing increasingly concerned about the growing debacle that was the War on Terror (then in Afghanistan & Iraq simultaneously) and the ever-lengthening train of abuses by the new police state.   It caused me to break from the political party I was raised to support, only to realize within two years that the other political party was just as terrible on those things that mattered most to me. I haven't voted D/R since 2006.
