I think the ideal would be if LGBTG+ representation became normalized and unremarkable (in the sense that people don't talk much about cis-het representation). Same for other sorts of representation, too (gender, ethnicity, etc.)

Amen! 🙏

This is truly what we need! For it to just become as normal as allo stuff on the big screen and on the home screen! ^_^

There have primarily been stories made about straight people for so long that I think we need just gay junk for a few years to even it out. More so for trans, even more for aspec.

And that's not even getting to what kinds of representation, people of color from different countries who are happy that they're queer or struggle with queer issues or anything like that. We just need MORE.

I think for trans people Dave Chapelle is public enemy numero uno. I mean he gave trans people a lot of exposure, but I guess in his case the saying all publicity is good publicity wasn't true....

He's a mixed bag since he has been nice about trans people too, even in that show, but he also said terf things and misgendered as well. Soo.. yeah I wouldn't say that's good representation

I was reading a novel last year and I had missed a chapter because of my own stupidity (I hadn't left a bookmark when I finished a chapter). I was very confused.

When I read the next chapter I was left wondering "Who are these people in this chapter" . "What surgery does the main character want to help pay for her boyfriend?"

Then I Realise I missed a chapter.

It is a good thing I went back to read the missed chapter, for one thing I would never have realised there was a trans man character in the book. It just mentions about him needing to meet specialist. While he is not a main character, he is the boyfriend of the main character

I think this is what I'd like to see more of. If you miss the part where they are trans etc, that you don't know as it is just one aspect of a broader character.

I watched a bit of owl house, it's not a bad cartoon i guess. Though nothing's come up yet lgbtq. I mean it's cool if a character is bi, but if it doesn't feature much then it's hard to say it's doing much around that :P.

no need for spoilers, im sure lgbtq stuff will come up a bit at some point, but just saying it's not something that featured yet.

Recently I saw a news a story about a child who was discovered in a tube railway station and adopted by the couple who discovered him.

They kept saying gay couple, which I really don't feel is relevant. The story was about the child and his growth through that neglectful situation.

Yes, they're gay, but you don't hear the news reporting the same situation, saying a "straight couple adopted him..." I dream of a day where they can just say "couple".

Media coverage is good, but normalising it is better.
