Guest
I've had on-and-off bouts of alcoholism in my late teens and early 20s, and some hard times in 2020, but now my cardiologist told me to stop drinking entirely, soooo...as of 2022 I am alcohol-free. I didn't really like it much, using it to kill off social anxiety and to allow guys to have sex with me, and as a way to be in an altered state (i.e. no longer feeling like crying and cutting) for longer than just an hour or so. Larkaloke
I like the taste of a lot of alcoholic drinks much more than I like the taste of most other non-caffeinated beverages, so they tend to be the thing that I have when I want a nice drink that tastes good with dinner. I usually stick to water during the week, though, and just have a single drink with dinner on the weekend days, or on holidays. I really hate the feeling of being affected by alcohol, so only once in my life have I ever had it to the point of being drunk (on a wine tasting tour where I foolishly ignored the snacks because I wasn't hungry). One or two drinks is fine for me with regards to tolerance, so I stick to one to be safe. It takes me a long time to drink most things anyway, so it's easy to just have one drink through dinner. I'm always somewhat worried about the potential for it being bad for one down the road, even though I know by societal standards I never actually have very much. If I could find something else I actually liked the taste of and that wouldn't keep me up later at night, I'd switch that out for alcohol... but I detest soda, and I dislike most juices and a lot of herbal teas because they're also very sweet. toadtmsmiley
I get drunk like once a week with my friends but the morning after always sucks. (plus I feel like I can actually talk to people If I have a few drinks) I guess what doesn't help is covid came around when I could actually go out and drink legally so I'm doing that now that it's calmed down. (also sour beer is the best type of beer)
YogaGirl
I love a good wine and food pairing. Usually a white with seafood, especially gewurztraminer or sauvignon blanc. But I love sake with sushi.

I'm more partial to IPAs and stouts but fruit sours can be really quite pleasant and not too 'beery,' anywhere from mild and sweet to dry and sharp, great to enjoy especially when it's warm outside. Plenty of craft breweries and microbreweries are making these, and if they have a tasting room or pub/restaurant attached, they'll often offer a 'flight,' which is an assortment of maybe four or six different small glasses (2-4 ounces each) of beer to sample. Talk to the staff, they'll be more than happy to match their varieties to your tastes. (And for anyone who's not into beer, no worries, more for me then!🙃)
LadyBear
I'm not a fun of wine or beer, but I do love sweet drinks - like eggnog, or chocolate alcohol drinks, or liquirice or coffe... you know, those kind of alcoholic drinks you usually take at the end of the meal? And I love any kind of alcoholic sweets. Basically, I have a sweet tooth as big as all of Europe, and if it's sweet+alcohol consider me in. Over drinking however, or you know just drinking alcohol? Nope, that's not my thing
Slugcat
I've never drank any and I don't intend to. Just a hard line in the sand I've drawn for myself.
Fangorn
All of them would taste better without the alcohol part, and I have a sensitivity to alcohol and get really sick from it. Plus I don't use mind-altering substances that don't have a medical purpose, because of my religion. I will drink eggnog and eat tiramisu though, because it isn't a large amount of alcohol and is necessary to the recipe. When I was younger, I would drink milk and honey with moonshine or chamomile tea with moonshine and benadryl to fall asleep on Christmas Eve.

Guest
I pretty much only have drinks on holidays and even then, I don't have enough to do much of anything to me. I like fruity carbonated drinks.
orakel der jahreszeiten
I don't like the taste of alcohol at all, when I drink I always mix it with fruit juice or something similar; but I like getting drunk despite that
