Face Posted May 21, 2007 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Just watched Desperate Virgins which is apparently in the same series of 3 programs on virgins as Virgin School, though it seemed at lot more respectful and less exploitative than that guy.It had 3 people. One was a 40 year old woman who had pledged celibacy for religious reasons but changed her mind at forty. She lost it to a male escort. The next was a 30 y/o guy lacking confidence but also at the low end of sexual.The last was a 50 year old guy who was obviously a romantic asexual. He said himself that when he last tried to have sex 10 years ago he loved the warmth of the woman he was with but had no desire to have sex with her.After hiring a 'lady' to try again they showed him as more confident but he said he did not climax, just enjoyed the experience. I'm glad it didn't take me that long to realise my A-status.As for the guy lacking confidence, the only thing we had was a statement of masturbating once a week so can't really say he was asexual. He was talking to his mother trying to get at the root of his confidence problems at one point. All I can say is she's probably the biggest factor. After she suggested lonely hearts columns, he said he'd tried it all, online, speed dating, the lot, only for her to come out with 'speed dating, are you that desperate?'. VicariousScot Posted May 24, 2007 Share Posted May 24, 2007 I watched that program too, and I must say I was sorta disgusted by the way they were seemed to be pressured to get sex just so they could make a television program (well that's how I saw it). I think the older man was most definetely a Romantic Asexual (just like myself) and the younger guy was very similar aswell. What does having sex with an escort prove to yourself? That you can do it?
