He is asexual for sure if he tells you that he self identifies as asexual. 

 

If he doesn't self identify as asexual he is not asexual for sure. Nevertheless, if he displays enough asexual-like patterns of thought and behavior, you may need to privately think of him as functionally asexual and make life decisions for yourself accordingly.

I think the important question is not whether he is asexual, but instead where there you can both be happy with your sexual relationship (in which I include in "sexual relationship" no sex at all being an option.)

 

The label isn't important, but your compatibility is

I have heard these:

i am Asexual =

“sex is just not as important to me as other stuff, like being a faithful, loving partner”

”i migth be a bit uninspiring and awkward in bed. Dont expect me to be swinging from the chandeliers!”

”could we turn off the ligths and stay in the same side of the bed as last time?”
