Guest
5' 2 & 3/4 " Wow that's short. o.O I thought I was short at my college since most others are taller than me....or at least about my height.
La_Gioconda
female, 5'4", one of the shortest in my family. At the beginning of the primary school I was one of the tallest persons in my class. Then I hit puberty as one of the first of my girlfriends and stopped growing.

square peg
Female, 5'1". No medical reason to be short that I know of, and my relatives are all average and above average height. As with La_Gioconda, I was average for my age for most of my childhood, because my sexual development and so growth spurts were ahead of everybody else. I've had this confirmed by an asthma consultant who checked on my growth. I'm white by the way. I think we should take into account our race because that influences height too. Most of the other things in the research don't apply to me though. I was not late into menarche - I was ten! My only health complaint is mild and previously moderate-to-severe asthma. I went to an academically selective school, although it's true I was raised by the working class (but not poor) side of my family. My mother is quite introverted, and not in any relationship while pregnant, if that's what they're getting at by the affect of the mother's socio-environmental experiences during gestation. Apart from day-care as a toddler and school from age 5 and a half, I had little socialisation with other children because until I was six we lived in an area of elderly residents, and after that I tended to prefer the company of adults anyway. I did have one very unusually close friend for the agegroup, from age 7 to 11, so I wasn't completely socially retarded or deprived. We were like soulmates. Now I'm 18 I'm fairly normal socially, though I don't actually crave company very often. I'm equally happy to entertain myself, for days at a time. I suspect the health findings are related to the fact that many asexuals don't experience any arousal. I would expect that a greater proportion of those may have physiological causes than those, like me, that do. Maybe the research should have divided the participants along those lines. Sorry for the life story. It seemed relevant. :D

Nico-Nico Friendo
What metric system do you use? Inches? Well, we use meters and centimeters and i'm rather bored rigfht now to find a conversion site, so, i'm about one point eighty something. Here's a conversion calculator. Just type in the centimeters and it will convert it into inches: http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/c...s-to-inches.htm remember 12 inches = 1 foot

SadNoirPlot
Even the physical development and health variables--late menarche, a shorter stature, and health problems in women and a shorter stature and health problems in men--independently predicted asexuality. I am short (around 5'3'' in your system), but I had my first period at 10! ...and I'm still asexual  .
Puzzle_chick
I'm on the short side, and look shorter than I am because I'm sort of tiny all around. 5'3 and a female.

violeteyedsoul
I used to be shorter. I've actually GROWN about 3 31/2 inches! :-D COOL! :-D 8) 8) 8) *HAPPY!* :D :D FEMALE: I'm about 5' 6" -7" NOW. I've been diagnosed with IBS FINALLY, BUT I don't know if this is accurate. My family has been EXTREMELY POOR my whole life, so eating well has never been an option. When I DID get a chance to eat well, as you can see, I grew. I've been to countless Doctors, and NONE of them cared enough to ATTEMPT to diagnose me. I've also been to countless psychiatrists, and psychologists, when I was young. Which, obviously made NO difference and did NOT help; and NEARLY made things a LOT worse for me. (turns out my Dad was RIGHT.) I had a TERRIBLE TEEN and Pre-TEEN life. (In THIS context from chemicals and surging hormones. I literally went CLINICALLY INSANE. -- Which I might add , NONE of the "Dr.'s" I went to admitted either. Probably cause we had NO $ AT ALL, and they knew that we couldn't pay a RED CENT for my "treatment"-- ) So all of this MIGHT have something to do with me being A-Sexual. ( NOT meaning it CAUSED it.) BUT! I Must say, I was A-Sexual from DAY ONE. And have ALWAYS, been. If you want to know more, like how did I know, etc. etc., just ask. But take my word for it, I was BORN A-Sexual. Unfortunately because of my raising this was NOT in Existence till recently for me; nor was being gay. *small sickened chuckle* But yeah. Ahh, I've probably given to much info. already. I just love talking about medical mysteries, and ponderings. Sorry!  :D
anann
Female and 5' 8", although the doctors tell me I am taller on the rare occasions that I go to the doctor. So I may be taller because I haven't been measured in a few years. I should have stopped growing long ago though; I am 21. And no medical conditions that would affect height. Lekzýs
Just to answer everything that the study...studied: Social class: Somewhere in the middle of middle class. Education: I'm a 1st year University student. Race-ethnicity: White. Height: 6'1" Menarche onset: Never. Health: Marginally underweight, and I have depression.* Religiosity: Atheist. *These things have only existed for about a year - I started to go through puberty ages ago (I first noticed when I was somewhere between 12 and 13), and my sexual desires just never developed. Of course, it could just be a hormonal imbalance or something, but I have no desires to find out, or to get it treated...so overall my health is pretty irrelevant to my asexuality.
