CheCheDaWaff Posted March 10, 2021 Share Posted March 10, 2021 Hi all, I'm working on a project involving asexual history and I came across this AVEN post: Interestingly I saw there that in 2006 there was an coverage for AVEN on TV on around 5 different shows (and one in 2007), when previously there had been none (or very little?). I'm wondering, does anyone know if there was a particular project or drive to make this happen? Or did it all just sort of pop out organically (presumably as a response to Bogaert's work)? michaeld Posted March 21, 2021 Share Posted March 21, 2021 I guess no-one here really knows the answer. It was certainly before my time. There was a huge spike in 2004 after the New Scientist article, which followed Bogaert's famous 1% paper. I've heard the Montel Williams show was also hugely influential. Around this time, the first AVEN media teams were formed, the US one being led by @kbrd143, who may remember more details if they're still around? Link to post Share on other sites
